My Turn To Unlove You Mr. Lloyd Chapter 01

Chapter 1 You Want Everyone to Know

Me and Dominic Lloyd were married for eight years, and he never once told anyone we were together. Not a single post about me on his Instagram—not one.
But on our anniversary? He posted a pic with his assistant, Stefanie Erickson. She was wearin’ a wedding dress, and their fingers were locked tight.
The caption said, “When you love someone, you wanna shout it from the rooftops.”
The comments blew up with congratulations. “Finally tied the knot!”
“You got yourself a wife now!”
Right then, it hit me like a ton of bricks—he wasn’t shy. He just didn’t love me.
So I let him go.
But later, Dominic started beggin’ to get me back.
I just pulled my hand out of his death grip, smiled, and felt lighter than I ever had before. “Quit beggin’ me to come back. Not loving you feels amazing.”

I saw Dominic’s post while I was runnin’ into the subway, tryin’ to get out of the rain.
Today was our eighth anniversary.
We’d planned to get dinner together. I even took the day off work. But no matter how many times I called, he never picked up.
I had nothin’ to do while I waited, so I mindlessly opened Instagram and clicked on his profile.
One look—and my blood ran cold.
There it was. A photo of him and his young assistant, her in a wedding dress, their fingers laced together.
You could only see their profiles, but their smiles? Unmistakable—big, bright, and only for each other.
The caption read, “When you love someone, you wanna shout it from the rooftops.”
The comments blew up—everyone was shocked and excited. “Dom, you’re married?! Finally off the market!”
“You got a wife now! Hope you two have forever together!”
Tears started pourin’ down my face. My heart felt like it shattered, and my hands started shakin’ so bad I couldn’t stop ’em.
I was his wife.
And none of his friends even knew I existed.
I was the one who chased him first. Back when we started datin’, I posted about him everywhere—beggin’ the world to know I loved him.
But he never posted me. No wedding pics. Not even a single mention of me.
I cried and fought about it, but he just said he was too shy to post.
I loved him, so I made excuses for him—maybe he just hated bein’ the center of attention.
But now? Starin’ at that big, public post about how much he loved her? I finally had to admit it—Dominic wasn’t shy.
He just didn’t love me.
The rain kept comin’ down.
And I didn’t need to wait anymore. ’Cause no one was comin’ to pick me up anyway.
I walked home alone. The rain soaked me to the bone, and my heart felt just as cold.
He didn’t come home till midnight.
This time, there was no happy smile waitin’ for him. Just a dark, quiet house.
Dominic turned on the light and frowned—like he wasn’t used to it bein’ so quiet.
Then he woke me up on purpose.
“You called me a million times. I even skipped the company party to rush back, and you’re asleep?!”
“Here. A gift for you.”
He acted like he was doin’ me a huge favor.
Dominic pulled out a ring, put on this big, generous act, and bent down to slip it on my finger.
The old me? I would’ve thought that was the sweetest thing ever. I would’ve cried, thanked him a million times.
Now? I just thought it was ridiculous. I pulled my hand away, grossed out.
He frowned. “Lorraine Vance, what’s your problem? Don’t push your luck.”
He paused, then said, “You mad about that post?”
“It was just a setup for a company event. Stefie and I were testin’ it out—playin’ bride and groom.”
“The post was just for fun. Why you bein’ so petty?”
Dominic never had much patience with me.
When I didn’t say nothin’, he turned his back on me right away—his way of showin’ he was mad.
He knew how much I loved him. Knew how scared I was of losin’ him. He had me wrapped around his finger.
Before, I would’ve panicked. I would’ve said sorry, even if it wasn’t my fault.
But this time? He waited and waited, and nothin’. No sound from me.
Finally, he couldn’t wait anymore. He turned around to yell at me—and stopped dead in his tracks.
My cheeks were burnin’, and my whole body felt like it was on fire.
“You got a fever?”
“Or are you playin’ some stupid little game?”
