I Raised A Shapeshifter But He Learned Cruelty Instead Of Love Chapter 01

When I returned home, the house was a complete mess.
The young man with cat ears on his head lay on the sofa, not even bothering to look up: "What took you so long? I'm thirsty, I want salmon-flavored water!"
I looked at the trash bags, toilet paper, shattered flower pots, and broken plant stems scattered across the floor, feeling a massive headache coming on:
"Julian Bennett, what is all this?
Didn't I tell you that if you want something, you can just call me? Stop destroying things at the drop of a hat!"
Hearing this, the young man on the sofa sat up abruptly, his large, feather-fluffy tail puffing up instantly behind him: "What do you mean I'm destroying things?
You're the one keeping me captive!
Depriving me of my freedom!"
I sighed, rubbing my temples: "The outside world is complicated. A little cat like you who just shifted into human form wouldn't survive out there."
"Heh, I wouldn't survive?"
Julian sneered and threw a stack of medical records at me. Words like 'depression' and 'anxiety' flashed across the pages, but Julian's mocking voice was crystal clear:
"I think you're the one who would die without me!"
A white page grazed my cheek, leaving a thin trail of blood.
Both Julian and I froze.
The next second, a sharp yowl erupted from the shopping bag in my arms, and a lean silhouette suddenly lunged out from my embrace—
As the distance grew, the figure elongated, and by the time he landed on the sofa, he had taken on the full frame of a grown man.
Julian couldn't dodge in time and was pinned down hard, screaming miserably: "Who are you?
This is my house!!"
The man didn't say a word. He just raised his hand and started swinging with immense force, smacking Julian's head with loud thuds.
"Stop hitting him!"
I finally snapped out of it and ran forward to pull the man back: "No fighting!"
Only then did the man stop. He twitched the cat ears on top of his head, tilted his neck, and nuzzled my cheek: "I listen to my master."
Hearing this, Julian's face changed drastically, and he bared his teeth, roaring:
"Who are you calling master?!"
After finally managing to separate the two cats—no, the two men—I was already panting from exhaustion.
"You're staying in the guest bedroom tonight!"
I pushed Julian into the room, saying sternly: "I'll let you out when you stop cursing and puffing up your fur!"
"Charlotte Bennett!
How dare you treat me like this!"
Julian was so furious his tail puffed up again: "You brought another cat home, and now you're locking me up. You're being unfaithful to me!
I'm going to bite you to death!"
I frowned: "No biting."
Julian bared his teeth even more fiercely: "A fickle, two-timing woman like you deserves to catch a disease!
Don't even think about ever holding me again. Just wait to die!"
His eyes were filled with pure malice as he spoke, leaving me both terrified and heartbroken.
The kitten I had raised for two years, the one I had brought up since he was little, actually wished for my death.
Closing the guest bedroom door, I tried my best to block out the cursing from inside, wiping away my tears as I cleaned the living room.
Once the cleaning was done, I carried a bowl of food to the study.
The study was dead silent. If it weren't for the lump under the covers on the small bed, I would have thought the Tabby Cat had run away.
"Why did you turn back into a kitten?"
I poked him: "I know about your kind, and I'm not afraid. You can shift into your human form."
The Tabby Cat looked at me and blinked slowly.
I knew that in cat behavior, this was a sign of affection.
I smiled and scratched the Tabby Cat under his chin.
The Tabby Cat began to purr in comfort, his body gradually expanding amidst the rhythmic sound.
He was significantly larger than Julian, possessing the full build of an adult man. His facial features were strikingly handsome—truly living up to the Tabby Cat's reputation as the heartthrob of the feline world.
Feeling a bit flustered, I pulled the blanket up higher to cover his bare lower half.
He wasn't neutered, and it was glaringly obvious.
"Just stay in this room for the next few days to quarantine. Here's some food for when you get hungry tonight.
I also found some clothes for you. See if they fit."
The man gave a low hum of acknowledgment, looked at me, and blinked slowly once more.
I chuckled and patted his head. I was just about to get up and leave when he suddenly tugged at my sleeve.
"What's wrong?"
I turned back to look at him.
"A name."
The man gazed at me, my reflection mirrored in his pale green eyes: "Name me."
