Cheated Hearts Twisted Game Chapter 01
I found my boyfriend in my boss's fiancée's bed.
The discovery hit so fast that my boss, Lamont Thornbery, and I could only stand in the adjacent room, staring at each other.
Lamont stayed completely silent for a long moment. When he finally spoke, his words were slow and deliberate. "My fiancée slept with your boyfriend. To make things fair, should I let you sleep with me?"
I froze.

I suspected that Lamont's fiancée was seeing someone else.
I'd put the pieces together earlier that day when I dropped off her food.
"My back aches. I don't want to move," Danica Walden, Lamont's fiancée, had said.
She was leaning against the doorframe with a smile, asking me to bring the takeout to the table.
She was in a bathrobe and her hair was still wet, like she'd just stepped out of the shower.
Normally, she just had me leave the food at the door.
The second I stepped inside, I caught the heavy, lingering scent of sex.
A few discarded wrappers littered the floor near the trash can. I could hear the shower running, and I saw a blurry silhouette moving behind the frosted bathroom glass.
A sudden sense of dread washed over me.
Was Lamont here too?
Just thinking about what had likely gone down in that room ten minutes earlier made me physically sick.
I set the food down, spun around, and took the elevator straight down to the parking garage.
The moment the doors slid open, I practically slammed right into a man's chest.
I looked up.
It was my boss, Lamont.
Lamont looked just as startled, but he caught me and helped steady my footing.
"Mr. Thornbery," I blurted, quickly taking a step back. "What are you doing here?"
He politely pulled his hands away from my waist. "Where else would I be?"
I was completely thrown.
He could have been in the hotel bathroom, in the bed, or on the sofa, but there was no physical way he could have made it down here in a matter of seconds.
And if he was down in the garage, who the hell was taking a shower up in the hotel room?
I tested the waters. "Are you heading upstairs?"
"Yes. Why?"
"No... no reason."
It suddenly clicked—Lamont was being cheated on. This massively successful, widely feared executive was actually getting betrayed by his own fiancée.
Anticipating the explosive mess of him walking in on them upstairs, my first instinct was to run and avoid the drama altogether.
He asked casually, "You seem to be in a rush. Do you have a date?"
"Yes, my boyfriend is waiting for me."
His finger paused over the elevator button. "How is the project progress report I asked you to prepare?"
"It's ready."
"Get in the car, then." He turned, walked out of the elevator bay, and tossed me his keys. "Give me the presentation now."
I just stared at him, baffled.
"Weren't you going upstairs?"
"I was, but I changed my mind."
I tried to nudge him in the right direction. "Maybe you should still go up and check?"
He just leveled a glare at me. "Are you the boss, or am I?"
I had absolutely nothing to say to that.
He was the boss, so he held all the power.
"If you're going to be this stubborn while getting blatantly cheated on, you deserve it," I thought.
