Caleb Sterling was the school's notorious bad boy, and Scarlett Bennett was its famous good girl.

"Ring, ring!"
Caleb's phone suddenly rang.
He paused, glancing impatiently at the screen, but the moment he saw the caller ID, his eyes changed.
"Kelly Green?"
He released Scarlett, rolled right off the bed, and answered the phone. "What's wrong?"
Kelly's tearful voice came through the line: "Caleb... my stomach hurts so much. Can you come to the hospital and stay with me?"
Caleb frowned. "Wait there, I'm on my way."
He hung up, casually grabbed his clothes and threw them on. Without even a glance at Scarlett, he turned to leave.
"Caleb!"
Scarlett struggled a bit, the handcuffs making a crisp clinking sound. "We..."
Caleb paused and looked back at her, his tone dismissive. "Hold it in. I'll satisfy you later, be a good girl."
With that, he left without looking back.
The door slammed shut with a bang, and the room instantly fell silent.
Scarlett stared blankly at the ceiling. Her wrists ached from the cuffs, but the pain in her heart was far worse.
She and Caleb had been secretly dating for a year, but during this year, Caleb would ditch her for Kelly more than half the time.
Tonight, he probably wouldn't be coming back either.
Scarlett was left handcuffed like that for the entire night, her body freezing and her head spinning.
It wasn't until the crack of dawn that she finally managed to painfully break free from the cuffs. She stumbled up, got dressed, and headed to the hospital.
She had a fever, and her throat burned like it was on fire.
The doctor prescribed some medicine and set her up for an IV drip.
Holding her prescription slip, she walked groggily down the hallway, but came to an abrupt halt as she passed a certain ward.
Through the half-open door, she saw Caleb.
The young man had a tall and lean figure, with broad shoulders and narrow hips. His black T-shirt outlined his taut waistline. His face was bold and roguish, with a prominent brow bone, a straight, narrow nose, and thin lips curved into a slightly cynical smile.
Yet this reckless and wild boy was currently sitting by the hospital bed, his eyes gazing tenderly at the sleeping Kelly.
"Caleb, you obviously like Kelly so much, so why are you dating Scarlett?"
One of his buddies beside him couldn't help but ask. "She looks so plain and dresses so tackily. Aside from being good at studying, she doesn't deserve you at all."
Caleb sneered, leaning back lazily. "She is pretty average-looking, but she has a great body. She's perfect for practice."
He paused, a wicked smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "That way, I won't accidentally hurt Kelly later because I can't control my strength."
His buddy clicked his tongue and teased, "Since her body is that good, why not let your brothers have a look too?
Sharing is caring, right?"
Caleb laughed and cursed, "Get lost."
Scarlett stood outside the door, her blood seemingly freezing in her veins all at once.
Caleb's voice was like a sharp knife, plunging ruthlessly into her heart!
