Kiss The Wrong Guy Chapter 01

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend for Valentine's Day.
The second he walked through the door, I grabbed him, pinned him against the wood paneling, and kissed him hard.
I managed to slip the spiked wine from my mouth into his, but he barely reacted.
He stayed totally quiet, gently pushing me back and reaching for the light switch.
I caught his hand to stop him.
My face burning, I murmured, "Baby, don't you want to sleep with me? It's my first time."
His breathing instantly hitched, growing heavy.
I smiled, sliding my hand up under his shirt.
But then, the front door opened again.
It was my actual boyfriend. "Baby," his low voice echoed in the entryway.
And my best friend answered him. "Don't rush. Mmm..."
Then I heard the sound of them kissing, their breathing already heavy.
Before my brain could even process what was happening, the guy next to me yanked me into the hall closet.
Wait—was I catching my boyfriend cheating, or was I the one getting caught?
---
A sharp jolt of panic shot through me.
The closet was cramped, forcing the stranger and me to press tightly against each other.
We were both breathing hard, but the two people right outside were panting even louder.
Dorothy Fletcher moaned softly. "You bad boy. Don't you feel guilty doing this to Essie?"
Clifford Hastings replied, struggling to catch his breath. "Do you?
"Besides, I only asked her out in the first place so you'd notice me."
What was that supposed to mean?
They were hooking up behind my back, and they'd planned it from the start?
Shocked, I jerked my head up and accidentally bumped the guy's chin.
I instinctively brought my hands up to apologize, but my fingers brushed against his groin.
He had an erection.
Right. I'd just forced him to drink wine spiked with an aphrodisiac.
I was feeling flushed all over, too.
Desperate to put some distance between us, I shifted against the closet wall, but he suddenly grabbed me to stop me.
I felt his warm breath on the top of my head as a quiet, smooth voice murmured in my ear, "Stop moving."
He stayed perfectly still after that.
Leaning back, he gave me as much space as the tiny closet allowed, making it very clear he had no intention of touching me.
My face burned, and I glanced up at him.
In the pitch black, I could only make out the sharp angle of his jawline.
I was sure I recognized that voice.
Was he one of Clifford's friends?
Outside, the sounds of making out and rustling clothes paused, quickly replaced by unmistakable, explicit moans.
Breathing heavily, Dorothy asked, "Are you still expecting Essie later?
"We're sleeping together right now, so why haven't you just broken up with her yet?"
I peered through the narrow crack in the closet doors.
Dorothy had her legs wrapped around Clifford's waist while he bit the side of her neck.
When he looked up, he was visibly aroused.
"You need to leave soon," Clifford said.
"Essie is conservative and boring, but she's completely devoted to me. I like that.
"I'm going to string her along for a little while longer."
Dorothy wrapped her arms around his neck and laughed at him.
"Esther is such an idiot. She has the worst luck.
"You're her first boyfriend, and you treat her like garbage."
Clifford kissed her hard and scoffed.
"She's lucky. She isn't hot enough to date a guy like me anyway."
"True. She couldn't get a boyfriend even if she begged."
They looked at each other and smiled, their voices dripping with contempt.
The drug was making my body run hot, but hearing them trash me so casually left me gutted.
These were the two people I cared about most in the world, yet here they were, betraying me and mocking me right outside this door.
Clifford continued, "It won't last much longer anyway.
"She might actually let me sleep with her today.
"Once I take her virginity, I'll just find some excuse to dump her."
Dorothy laughed, playfully swatting his chest. "You're awful."
Clifford kissed her earlobe. "What about you? When are you going to finally say yes and be my girlfriend?"
Dorothy closed her eyes, smiling. "We can talk about that after you sleep with her."
Clifford stopped and leaned in. "Wanna make a bet?
"I can get her into bed by the end of the month."
I swallowed hard over the tight lump in my throat.
I silently prayed she would say no—I just wanted Dorothy to blow him off.
I felt utterly humiliated, and having a total stranger standing right next to me witnessing it only made it worse.
But Dorothy just smiled and nodded.
"Sure.
"But that's way too easy for you.
"Esther might be conservative, but she'll do whatever you tell her to."
A wave of despair washed over me, instantly swallowed by pure, blinding anger.
I wanted to kick the closet doors open and confront them both.
Clifford asked, "What do I have to do, then?"
Dorothy shifted her weight, straddling him.
"You have to break up with her. Make her cry and get down on her knees in public to beg you to stay."
Clifford laughed, "And you say I'm the bad one. I thought you two were besties."
Dorothy scoffed.
"I'm so sick of her following me around everywhere."
Clifford chuckled, grabbing her waist.
"What's in it for me if I win?"
Dorothy pinched his cheek.
"If you win, I'll stop flirting with your friend Keith, and we can make it official.
"If you lose, you have to help me get Keith to date me."
"Deal."
