I Set Him Up With His Mistress Chapter 01
The day I got the divorce text from Ethan Pierce, I was out with our kid, picking a tie for him to wear on the day his company went public.
The message was extremely brief, just a few short words.
"I cheated. Let's get a divorce."
My best friend, who was calling me over to pay, happened to glance at the message.
She immediately blew up. "Do men nowadays cheat so openly?!"
"Chloe, wait here. I'm going to contact the Pierce family right now. I'll drag him back for you."
I snapped out of it and immediately reached out to stop her.
"The person he cheated with... I arranged it."

Just as I was putting the last dish on the table, Ethan came back.
With him was his new flame, Lily Evans.
The young woman was wearing a white dress, the hemline just covering her thighs, perfectly revealing her fair, firm thighs.
She looks innocent, yet not without a hint of sexiness.
"Hello—" Her voice trembled slightly. She clearly hadn't expected Ethan to bring her directly to me.
I looked up and glanced at her. "Everyone's here. Let's eat."
I pulled out a chair and casually took off my apron, draping it to the side.
Lily was pulled to her seat, and with just one look, she froze again.
The table was filled with all her favorite home-cooked dishes. Even the salmon she had casually mentioned on her phone last night was on the table.
I smiled. "I'm not much of a cook, and it's my first time making a French meal. Give it a try."
The young woman was clearly intimidated by this display, taking my goodwill as a show of force. Yet she couldn't find a hint of provocation in my eyes.
For a moment, she didn't know how to react and could only tug on Ethan's sleeve for help.
"Don't be scared. I asked her to make the fish."
Ethan was right. After sending that text at the mall, he called me.
In the 56-second call, he listed a string of things the young woman couldn't eat and specifically instructed, "She likes fish but hates the fishy smell. I've looked all around, and you're the best at cooking fish. I'll have to trouble you to personally handle this farewell dinner."
Ethan's voice was completely calm, as if he were casually arranging a meal with a friend. And I was just the skilled chef he mentioned.
Under the guise of getting more food, I carefully observed the young woman in front of me.
Bright eyes and pearly teeth, a true graceful beauty straight out of a classic painting.
Ethan has high standards. And I was the only one who could completely understand his thoughts and preferences.
"What day did you schedule for us to get the divorce certificate?"
The sudden question snapped me back to reality, and I realized I had been staring.
When our eyes met, I could see a hint of blame in Ethan's. He was blaming me for scaring his precious darling.
Thinking of this, I couldn't help but feel a bit amused.
Yes, that was just how he was. Always protective of his own.
If it was a person or thing he liked, no one else was allowed to touch it in the slightest. Just like how he used to protect me in the past.
The sweet, rich fish turned bitter as I chewed.
I swallowed my food and spoke slowly. "As you said, it's scheduled for next Monday. That day is also Lily's birthday.
The young woman's fork, which had bumped against mine, paused. Her eyes, looking at Ethan, filled with confusion again.
Apparently... Ethan hadn't told her again.
"I originally wanted to give you a surprise that day." Ethan smiled apologetically.
The unconscious gesture of scratching his head made the usually stern man look surprisingly awkward, like a teenager.
When was the last time I saw him like this?
