You Brought Stormy Into My Life Chapter 01

In Highland's high society, everyone knew: "Stay away from Elena Sheffield. She's the Sheffield family's spoiled princess, and Vincent Crawford's fatal weakness."
She thought this was perfect love.
Until today, when Vincent returned from Europe after closing a deal.
Elena ditched the opening of her art exhibition, wore the dark green velvet dress he'd praised, and waited for him at home, excited.
But the doorbell didn't ring—her phone buzzed first.
It was an anonymous text.
[Miss Sheffield, is this your so-called devoted husband? He's at his private place—Cedar Estate, with another woman. When that woman cries, Mr. Crawford's heart breaks.]
The photo was kinda blurry, but Elena recognized Vincent's back instantly.
Her fingers gripping the phone froze.
He's lying to her?
He said his flight got delayed, but he's been back for hours?
And he went to that place he never took her to?
Panic hit her hard. Elena grabbed her keys and floored it, and drove straight to the western suburbs.
When she arrived at Cedar Estate, the door was open.
She pushed the door open, and the scene stabbed her heart.
Vincent stood with his back to the door, tall and straight, and in his arms, he held a woman in a pale white dance skirt.
What chilled Elena to the bone was the look in Vincent's eyes.
He'd always been stone cold, but now, in those eyes that were always calm, there was actually pain and longing.
The woman looked up at him, crying: "Vincent, my leg flared up, and I can never dance ballet again... I only have you left. Do you hate me now?"
"I did this to you," Vincent's voice was low and hoarse, with guilt and gentleness Elena had never heard. "As long as I'm here, who would dare to look down on you?"
"Daisy Haywood, welcome back."
Daisy?
Elena's mind reeled.
Daisy, the genius dancer who was rumored to have been supported by Vincent, treated as his everything, but ultimately left him for her dancing dreams?
She had always thought it was just gossip, thinking that a cold-hearted capitalist like Vincent would never have a first love.
It turned out he did have one, but he'd hidden it deep.
It turned out that all his spoiling her were just because she happened to fill the void?
Her heart felt like it was breaking, hurting so bad she could barely stand.
Vincent let her go but still kept her close.
Daisy leaned against his chest, her voice sad: "I know you're married. She's young, beautiful, and from a good family... Vincent, I shouldn't have come back, but I missed you. When I missed you so bad it drove me crazy, I told myself you were still waiting..."
"I left without saying goodbye because I was afraid of dragging you down. My family went broke, and I didn't want to put you in a tough spot... Now I have nothing left. Vincent, do you still want me?"
Standing outside the door, Elena listened, freezing cold.
Vincent didn't push her away.
He stayed silent for a long time, raising his hand, his fingertips gently wiping her tears.
The familiarity of the gesture was shocking.
"Don't cry," he said.
Just when Elena thought he would refuse, he leaned down and kissed Daisy's forehead.
That kiss was like a slap in the face!
