My Sister’s Spot Stolen I Reveal All Chapter 01
I was right in the middle of hosting an important multinational conference when my sister's call suddenly came through.
On the other end of the line, she was sobbing uncontrollably: "Sis, my spot for the exchange program got stolen..."
I rushed to the school immediately, only to see my sister cornered in the office, her eyes red from crying.
A girl dressed like a typical school bully girl was pointing right at her nose, her face full of disdain.
"You want to compete with me?
I am the heiress of Sterlings in Kingston. My dad just donated a laboratory building to the school!
Who the hell do you think you are?"
Even the major course teacher standing nearby chimed in to take her side:
"Lily Evans, Brittany Sterling is the child of a major sponsor for our school. Just be smart about this and don't cause trouble for everyone."
I was just about to step forward and argue, but that phrase "the" stopped me in my tracks.
The Sterlings in Kingston?
Since when did my dad have a third daughter besides me and my sister?
I immediately dialed my dad's number and sneered: "Dad, since when did you have another daughter behind my mom's back?"
...
"What nonsense are you talking about!"
On the other end of the line, my dad, Richard Sterling, didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the false accusation.
"Victoria Sterling, in my entire life, I've only had you and your little sister. Where would I get another daughter?"
Hearing his resolute denial, the suspicion in my heart instantly dissipated.
It makes senses. My dad is famously known as a "model husband" in the entire upper-class circle of Kingston.
He has been meticulously considerate to my mom, Eleanor Evans, for thirty years without fail. In our circle, it's never news when some man cheats and keeps the mistress, but everyone is absolutely certain that such a thing would never happen to Richard.
"It better be."
I hung up the phone coldly and looked up at that arrogant pink-haired brat.
She wore heavy smoky makeup, her body haphazardly piled with designer brands, exuding the tacky vibe of nouveau riche.
I reined in my anger and asked in a pleasant tone: "Did you just say you are the the heiress of Sterlings?"
"Oh, here comes another one?
What, the little one called in the big one?"
She sneered and crossed her arms. "That's right, I am the the heiress of Sterlings
in Kingston, Brittany!
Why, you got a problem with that?"
"Oh.
I get it now, you guys are trying to cozy up to me!
Let me tell you, it's too late!
In Kingston, besides our family, how many other Sterlings are worthy of being called a rich and powerful family?
What a bunch of hillbillies!"
After she finished, she turned back to my sister, the malice in her tone practically overflowing: "Lily, what's the use of having good grades?
What's the use of working so hard to prepare for a whole year?
With just one word from my dad and one building, all your hard work is just crap!"
My sister lowered her head even more from the scolding, her tightly clenched fists turning white at the knuckles from the force.
My mom has never liked showing off and always hoped we could establish ourselves through our own abilities.
So my sister and I have always kept a very low profile outside, never revealing our true identities.
My sister is especially introverted, pouring all her heart into her studies. I never expected that this low profile would be seen as a weakness for others to trample on at will.
My heart ached as I pulled my sister behind me. My gaze fell back onto Brittany's face, and my tone turned icy:
"As far as I know, all the application materials for the exchange program, including the review by the partner university, have already gone through the proper procedures. Swapping someone out at the last minute is against the rules, isn't it?"
"Rules?"
Brittany triumphantly pulled a stack of documents from her bag and waved them in front of my face.
"Are you talking about this?
Lily's application materials?
Sorry, but I held onto them. They were never submitted at all."
She smiled radiantly, but her words were incredibly vicious: "So, the final list submitted by the school only had my name, Brittany Sterling, from top to bottom.
No matter how well-prepared she was, what's the point?"
After she finished speaking, right in front of my face, she tore my sister's materials in half!
"Victoria!"
Lily cried out, her tears instantly bursting like a broken dam.
I watched helplessly as those pieces of paper fluttered down, the anger in my heart instantly flaring to its peak.
I had seen shameless people before, but never someone so blatantly shameless!
"You!"
I was so furious my vision went dark for a moment, and the hand pointing at her was trembling.
"What do you mean, 'you'?"
Brittany casually tossed the torn scraps of paper onto the ground, a look of vindictive pleasure hanging on her face.
"Not convinced?
If you're not convinced, go ask your dad to donate a building to the school!
Oh, I forgot, broke losers like you don't have what it takes!"
The major course instructor beside her, Mr. Harrison, immediately chimed in: "Ma'am, the situation is already very clear.
Brittany's father donated an entire laboratory building to our school, making a tremendous contribution to the school's scientific research development."
"After comprehensive consideration, the school decided to award the exchange student quota to the more suitable Brittany."
That sycophantic face made my stomach churn violently.
"Mr. Harrison, right?"
I turned to him, "My sister, Lily, maintained the highest GPA in her grade for this exchange student spot, won a national gold medal for the research project she participated in, and scored nearly a perfect mark on her IELTS."
"May I ask, what does this more suitable Brittany you speak of have?"
Mr. Harrison was left speechless by my question for a moment, his face flushing bright red.
Brittany suddenly burst into exaggerated laughter: "What do I have?
I have my dad!
My dad is the head of the Sterlings, the chairman of Stellar Tech!
Having money is enough!
Understand?"
Stellar Tech?
The head of the Sterlings?
Every word popping out of her mouth made the sneer in my heart almost spill over my lips.
The true controller of Stellar Tech today is certainly not Richard.
"The Sterlings of Stellar Tech?"
I raised an eyebrow in feigned surprise, a trace of confusion in my tone: "I think I've heard of them too, a very powerful family.
But how come I didn't know the Sterlings had an heiress named Brittany?"
