Died As Your Wish Chapter 01
Olivia Bennett died in the seventh year of her marriage to Alexander Sterling.
When the kidnapper's knife plunged into her body, she trembling dialed Alexander's number.
"Alexander... save me... I've been kidnapped..."
But from the other end of the line came the man's cold voice: "So you're calling to share the good news?
Good riddance if you die."
After dropping those words, the call was ruthlessly disconnected.
Olivia closed her eyes in agonizing pain. In the final moments of her life, she thought that if there was a next life, she would never love Alexander again.
When Olivia opened her eyes again, she found herself pinned beneath Alexander.
His movements were fierce and brutal, not at all like making love, but rather as if he wanted to kill her.
"Ah!"
She shoved him away violently.
Alexander's face was cold: "Olivia, what kind of crazy fit are you throwing now?"
Olivia ignored him, grabbing her phone to check the date—
She had actually been reborn, reborn to the time shortly after she had married Alexander.
For a moment, her mind went completely blank. Before she could even process it, Alexander's phone rang.
"Alex, when are you coming to pick me up?
Didn't you promise to go to the movies with me?"
A familiar voice came through the phone. Hearing Chloe Kensington's coquettish tone, Alexander coaxed her in a low voice while immediately getting up to get dressed: "I'll be right there."
Olivia finally snapped back to reality. She grabbed his wrist, her voice still trembling slightly.
"Alexander, you... wait for me for twenty minutes. I have something very important to do."
Alexander frowned and shook off her hand. "What now?
You demanded that I sleep with you before I could go see Chloe, and now I've done it. Don't tell me you're going back on your word again?"
"No."
Olivia took a deep breath and said word by word, "Alexander, I want a divorce."
Alexander froze for a second, then let out a cold sneer: "Olivia, what trick are you playing this time?"
"No tricks. This time, I really want to divorce you."
With that, she pulled out her phone, her fingertips tapping rapidly on the screen as she sent a message to her lawyer.
After sending it, she turned the phone screen toward him, letting him see the cold text clearly—
"Robert Harrison, I want a divorce. Draft a divorce agreement for me immediately."
Alexander stared at the message, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Olivia looked at him. This face she had loved for so many years now only made her feel as if a knife were twisting in her heart.
Olivia had loved Alexander for twenty whole years.
Ever since kindergarten, she had followed behind him like a little tail he couldn't shake off. But Alexander never cared to pay attention to her, always walking ahead with a cold face, too stingy to even spare her a glance.
There were too many girls in school who liked him, and she was too clumsy, not knowing how to catch his attention, so she could only find different ways to go against him.
When he was on cleaning duty, she would throw trash in his assigned area.
When he gave a speech, she would make funny faces in the audience to mess with him.
When he played basketball, she would secretly deflate his bicycle tires.
Over time, they became the most famous rivals in the whole school.
Olivia thought that even if Alexander didn't like her, at least he wouldn't like anyone else.
As long as she could see him every day, she was satisfied.
She thought this kind of life would last forever, but that illusion was completely shattered the day Chloe appeared.
Olivia would always remember that rainy day.
She came home from school as usual, only to see Arthur Bennett brazenly holding a strange woman, with a girl about her age standing nearby.
He brought the mother and daughter into the house and stiffened his neck at Eleanor Bennett: "This is my first love. I was useless back then, and our families forced us apart.
Now that I am successful, I must fulfill this unfinished dream. Even if she has borne another man's child, I will divorce you and marry her!"
His words were absolute, leaving no room for salvation. Eleanor, who loved Arthur deeply, cried the entire night. At dawn, when no one was watching, she jumped from the rooftop.
And before Eleanor's 7th-day memorial service had even passed, Arthur couldn't wait to welcome his first love into the house.
From then on, Olivia hated Arthur, hated his first love, and hated her stepsister Chloe even more.
But she never expected that the most painful betrayal was yet to come.
That day, she went to the library to find Alexander, only to see him sitting in a corner with Chloe.
Chloe leaned on his shoulder, and he was gently kissing the corner of her lips.
In that moment, Olivia's world came crashing down.
Later, Luna Sterling fell gravely ill and forced Alexander to marry her.
After they married, Alexander accidentally discovered thousands of sketches she had drawn of him, realizing she had been secretly in love with him for years.
But he wasn't moved by it at all. Instead, he was convinced she had deliberately manipulated his grandfather behind his back to force him into the marriage.
Since then, their marriage had become a battlefield.
When Alexander would place an unlimited bid for Chloe, she would smash his limited-edition sports car.
When Alexander took Chloe on vacation, she would have every hotel in the city refuse to serve them.
When Alexander threw a lavish birthday party for Chloe, she stuffed cockroaches and centipedes into the cake.
Finally, they reached an agreement: Alexander could go see Chloe, but for every visit, he had to sleep with her once.
"Alexander, let's just torture each other for the rest of our lives."
She smiled brightly, but her tears flowed straight into her heart.
Only she knew that this so-called mutual torture was simply because she loved him too much and couldn't bear to let go.
It wasn't until she had died once that she finally understood—
Some love is destined to end badly.
So, in this life, she was going to let go, letting Alexander, Chloe, and all that unforgettable pain completely disappear from her life!
Soon, a lawyer in a sharp suit walked in.
"Mr. Sterling, Ms. Bennett, this is the divorce agreement."
The lawyer placed the documents on the table. "Please review them."
Alexander knew Olivia loved him desperately and didn't believe for a second she wanted a divorce. He had been waiting leisurely to see how she would back down, but to his surprise, she signed her name on it without hesitation the very next second.
His heart jolted. He immediately picked up the agreement, his eyes sweeping over the terms—
Property division, equity allocation—every single clause was crystal clear.
"Olivia," his voice was unexpectedly tight, "...are you serious?"
Olivia turned around, a mocking curve playing on her lips: "Of course, as real as it gets. What's wrong, Mr. Sterling, can't bear to let me go?"
"Can't bear to let go?"
Alexander looked as if he had just heard a joke. "Olivia, this marriage is nothing but a prison to me. Every second I spend with you is pure torture!"
"Then sign it."
She said airily, "What are you waiting for!"
Hearing this, Alexander's expression turned completely cold. He grabbed the pen and slashed his signature across the agreement, pressing so hard he nearly tore the paper.
He coldly threw the agreement in front of her. "Olivia, you'd better remember that this is your own choice. Don't regret it."
The lawyer took the signed documents, ignoring the verbal sparring between the two, and said in a businesslike tone: "According to the law, the divorce agreement requires a one-month Cooling-off Period. After it expires, both parties can officially receive the divorce decree. If either of you changes your mind within this month, it can be revoked at any time."
Alexander sneered at those words, staring at Olivia with a dark, brooding gaze: "Revoked at any time?
So that's the game you're playing."
As if seeing right through her, he said with absolute certainty, "Olivia, if you actually go through with this divorce in a month, I'll chop my head off and let you kick it like a ball!"
After saying that, he turned and strode away. His back was straight and aloof, as if he was absolutely certain she would back out at the last minute.
Olivia watched his retreating figure and smiled softly.
Alexander, you're wrong.
Not only am I going to go through with it, but when the month is up, I'm going to leave this city and disappear from your world completely.
