The Incubus Blind Box Chapter 01
I stared at the massive black delivery box in my living room, lost in thought.
The box was still moving.
Muffled thumps came from inside, as if someone was fighting in there.
The shipping label read: “Breed: Incubus (Male) / Quantity: 1 / Note: Fragile, please handle with care.”
I picked up a box cutter and carefully sliced through the tape.
Riiip—
The lid was suddenly pushed open from the inside.
Two identical men appeared before me.
The one on the left wore a vintage black tailcoat, his silver hair tied back, and the Windsor knot at his collar tied meticulously.
He stepped out of the box elegantly, placed one hand over his chest, and bowed slightly to me.
"Master, a pleasure to meet you. I am Sebastian Sterling."
His voice was as deep and pleasant as a cello, and his dark red eyes were filled with a gentle smile.
The one on the right... was a complete contrast.
He was shirtless, his muscles taut and explosive. A black leather collar choked his neck, attached to a broken chain.
His black hair was a mess, and his eyes were as fierce as an untamed wolf.
He kicked the side of the box and growled at Sebastian.
"Stop putting on an act. It's disgusting."
Sebastian ignored him, merely offering me an apologetic smile.
"Apologies, Master. My younger brother lacks manners. Did he frighten you?"
I stood frozen, nearly dropping the box cutter.
Buy one get one free?
Is business really this competitive nowadays?
I immediately pulled out my phone to contact customer service.
“Did you send the wrong order? I only paid for one.”
“Congratulations, it's buy one get one free~” Customer service replied instantly.
“...This black-haired one looks really fierce. Can I return him?”
“Dear, discounted mystery box items cannot be returned or exchanged. Besides, incubi are very obedient. As long as they're well-fed, they're as docile as cats!”
I glanced at the black-haired incubus who was currently baring his teeth at the air, and then at Sebastian, who was crouching down to help me clean up the packing peanuts.
Cats?
This was clearly a Ragdoll cat and a Husky.
That black-haired incubus—the "younger brother" Sebastian mentioned—was named Jaxson Sterling.
Jaxson was very pissed off.
He sat cross-legged on the floor, glaring at me with a look that suggested he might lunge and rip my throat out at any second.
Sebastian walked over, his slender fingers resting lightly on Jaxson's shoulder.
"Be polite to the Master."
Jaxson violently shook off his hand, a beast-like growl rumbling in his throat.
"Get lost!"
I swallowed hard.
Was this really a steal?
Why did it feel like I just brought home two absolute menaces?
