Take Your Love And Leave Chapter 01

"I need you to help me stage a private jet crash.
I want the world to think I’m dead, so I can leave Braylen for good."
When Anabel Morrell asked for that, her best friend, Rosalynn Locke, stared at her like she was nuts, half-wondering if she’d misheard.
Everyone knew he loved her to bits, but only Anabel knew the truth—her devoted husband had been living a secret life with another woman and her twins.
When she found out, the shock hit her so hard that she threw up blood and collapsed.
Without a second thought, Braylen dropped a ten-billion-dollar deal overseas and flew right back home.
He stayed by her hospital bed for two straight days.
Anabel opened her eyes and saw him watching over her, his face tight with worry.
He was holding the IV line, warming the liquid before it went into her vein.
"Bella, you’re awake." He pressed her hand to his cheek, his voice cracking with emotion. "I was scared to death."
He didn’t even flinch when a business rival once pulled a gun on him.
But the second he heard Anabel had thrown up blood, his knees buckled right then and there.
When she looked into his anxious eyes, a raw, suffocating pain hit her.
He really did love her—the love in his eyes was real.
But did he look at Sharlene the same way?
Did he whisper those same sweet nothings and promises to her, too?
Sharlene was the other woman—his childhood friend, for God’s sake.
His family and Sharlene’s had been close for years, but he still ran her family into the ground.
If his mom hadn’t stepped in, he would’ve done way worse to Sharlene.
That’s why Anabel never would’ve believed he could cheat—let alone have a year-old twins already—if she hadn’t seen explicit videos and the paternity report herself.
Anabel shut her eyes and turned her head away.
Tears just kept rolling down, soaking a big spot on the pillow.
Braylen didn’t see the tears.
Figuring she was just tired, he said softly, "Bella, the doctor checked you out. You’re two months pregnant. We’re gonna have our own baby!"
He was grinning from ear to ear—usually, he was so cold and detached.
"Our anniversary is in five days, and now this. Two amazing blessings all at once!"
Anabel’s eyes flew open, wide with shock.
When she was a kid, her own dad kicked her into a frozen river and left her there to soak for ages.
That messed up her health, and doctors had told her she’d probably never have kids.
That’s why Braylen’s parents, who’d never been fully happy with her, had made their unhappiness obvious more than once.
Anabel had put up with it for Braylen’s sake, but he refused to let her take any crap for him.
"Bella’s the love of my life. I’m lucky she’s mine," he’d told them coldly. "If you give her a hard time over this, I’ll cut you off."
Now, Anabel brushed her hand over her belly. A sob escaped her finally. The baby seriously couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Braylen pulled her into his arms, muttering comforting things. "Why the tears, sweetheart? Did someone upset you? Tell me, and I’ll fix it."
Anabel caught a faint, weird smell on him—perfume mixed with baby formula.
She suddenly pushed him away hard and leaned over the bed, retching.
Braylen figured it was morning sickness.
Without a second thought, he held out his hands to catch whatever she threw up, not caring if he got messy.
A pang of worry hit him.
Even though he was over the moon, he knew from Sharlene’s pregnancy how tough pregnancy, delivery, and recovery are on a woman.
Anabel stared at him, her heart squeezing tight.
She knew he was a neat freak—yet here he was, willing to catch her throw up.
He even washed all her clothes and shoes by hand himself.
For three years, he’d been totally devoted to her, and she’d loved him just as much.
By now, she felt totally dependent on him.
Right then, she was even willing to swallow her pride.
She thought if Braylen cut Sharlene off, they could go back to how things were.
But just like that, he got a text and took off in a hurry, mumbling something about work.
Thirty minutes later, Sharlene’s message came—a photo of Braylen holding the twins, kissing their foreheads.
All of Anabel’s fragile hopes shattered right then and there.
She left the hospital and met up with Rosalynn, asking her to fake a private jet crash.
Dying was her only way out—’cause Braylen would never let her leave.
If she asked for a divorce, he’d just lose his mind.
After she left Rosalynn’s place, Anabel hopped on a plane out of state to schedule an abortion.
