Don't Miss Me Don't Forget Me Chapter 01

The bedroom door opened from the inside, and Tiffany Stone walked out wearing that oversized white shirt.
There were glaring red marks on her neck, and she looked at me with a provocative gaze.
"Eleanor, Mr. Blackwood was so rough last night, it really hurt."
She deliberately tugged at her collar, revealing more suggestive marks.
I sat on the sofa, holding the comb for my guide dog, Coco, my expression numb.
That shirt was Sebastian's favorite; usually, he wouldn't even let me touch it.
Now worn by another woman, it indeed looked like a sting to the eyes.
But I couldn't see clearly; the center of my vision was nothing but a blurry black shadow.
"Since you're awake, go ahead and have breakfast."
My voice was calm, betraying no fluctuation of emotion.
Tiffany pouted in boredom and turned to the kitchen to pour some water.
Sebastian walked out right after, carrying the damp scent of a shower.
He watched coldly as I brushed Coco, his lips curling into a mocking sneer.
"Wasn't listening to the moans from the doorway all night enough for you?
Do you still have to play deaf and dumb here?
Eleanor, are you just born to be this pathetic?"
"Have you been dying for me to touch other women all along?"
My hand paused, but I didn't look up.
"As long as you are happy. Ms. Stone is young; she can satisfy you."
Sebastian strode over to me in a few large steps, snatched the comb from my hand, and smashed it onto the floor.
"Stop pretending to be so magnanimous!
Who are you putting on this act for?"
"You were the one who insisted on marrying me back then, and now you're the one pushing me away!"
I fumbled around trying to pick up the comb, but bumped my head against the corner of the coffee table.
Sharp pain washed over me, but I didn't even furrow my brow.
It wasn't that it didn't hurt; the tumor in my brain was compressing my nerves, dulling my sense of pain.
I braced myself against the sofa, trying to stand up and pour a glass of water to ease the awkwardness.
My vision was blurred; I reached for the water pitcher but misjudged the distance.
The back of my hand slammed against the wall of the freshly boiled water pitcher, and scalding water splashed over my hand.
My skin instantly turned red and blistered, but my delayed reaction kept me from pulling back.
Not until Sebastian yanked me away, his tone filled with disgust.
"Eleanor, are you starting with your self-injury ploy again?"
"You don't even flinch when you're burned like this—do you think I'll feel sorry for you?"
He flung my hand away with force, and I lost my balance, falling to the floor.
Coco circled me anxiously, letting out low, whimpering sounds.
I tried to reach for the guiding cane nearby to get up.
But Sebastian raised his foot and kicked the cane away with a vicious force.
The cane slammed against the wall, snapping with a sharp crack.
"Stop acting!
Just looking at you makes me sick!
A healthy person insisting on using a stick to pretend to be blind?
Do you really think you're worthy?"
I lay on the floor, my fingertips touching the cold floor.
So, in his eyes, my clumsiness and slowness were all just an act.
Tiffany walked over with a glass of water, linking her arm through Sebastian's with exaggerated sweetness.
"Sebastian, don't blame Eleanor. I'm sure she didn't mean to spill water on you. She was just upset about us what we did in the room last night... it's normal for her hands to shake."
"Isn't there the Family Banquet tonight?
Don't let Eleanor ruin your mood."
Sebastian scoffed, wrapping his arm around Tiffany's waist as he walked out.
Before leaving, he glanced back at me, his gaze bone-chillingly cold.
"Since you're so fond of this 'substitute,' I'm taking her to the Family Banquet tonight to show her around."
"I'll let everyone know that you, Eleanor, hold nothing but the title of Mrs. Blackwood!"
The door slammed shut heavily, the vibration stinging my eardrums.
I fumbled as I crawled toward the corner, picking up the broken cane.
Coco ran over and licked the back of my hand, the warm touch making my eyes sting with tears.
I wasn't being generous; I just couldn't see clearly anymore.
I needed someone to replace me, to stay by Sebastian's side.
Coco ran back to the bedroom, returning with a photo frame in his mouth and placing it in my hands.
It was a photo of us from college; in it, Sebastian was smiling brilliantly.
My trembling fingertips traced the photo, but I realized I couldn't even make out his silhouette anymore.
The black fog in my vision grew denser; no matter how close I held it, it was just a blur.
I hugged the frame, curling up on the cold floor.
Sebastian, I'm about to forget what you even look like.
