Daddy's Forbidden Touch Chapter 01
Heather’s pov
“Dad, help me!” My arms locked around my stepdad’s neck. Eyes squeezed shut, I pressed myself as close as I could, wishing I could flatten myself into a piece of paper.
“It’s okay. I’m here.” he murmured, his big hand rubbed slow, gentle circles on my back.
I peeled my eyes open slowly, cheeks burning. God, It’s so embarrassing, I’d just step into the entrance and I was already losing it this hard. I swear I heard the other visitors laughing.
Yes, right now we're inside a haunted house—the horror hospital theme.
No one would ever buy that I picked this for my graduation trip. All my classmates since kindergarten have known I’m a total scaredy-cat, even darkness makes me nervous.
I can’t even handle those fake-scary prank videos on YouTube—I swipe past them so fast the moment I saw the titles or tags.
But my best friend only needed one line to talk me into it.
"You know in a haunted house you can hug your stepdad as much as you want, and it's totally normal, right?"
She was the only one knew I love being around my stepdad, I've always been drawn to him.
As a retired hockey player. Matthew was tall, with broad shoulders and defined arms. He was already 34, but still looked young and handsome. I believe he was an attractive man by any woman’s standards. .
He worked out regularly, jogging for about an hour every morning. Sometimes I’d gaze at him when we’d be out by the pool in our backyard and just stare at his chest. It was so broad and muscular.
I was kinda jealous of my mom that she had such a good looking man to come home to every day.
“Are you okay?” Dad’s voice pull me back, his hand sliding from my back to my lower back, giving me two gentle pats.
“What? It reminded you of being chased by a nurse with a needle when you were a kid?” mom teased me with a smirk.
“Mom!” I interrupted her immediately, I didn’t want Dad still think I was a little girl, “It was ten years ago, ten years!”
“But your scream just now was the totally same with Ten Years ago.” Mom crossed her arms and emphasized “Ten”.
“Alright, alright,” Dad chimed in indulgently. “Maybe today’s the day Heather finally redeems herself ?"
"Oh, maybe," Mom replied airily. "We’ll see if you’re still saying that when she’s screaming her head off in a few minutes, she will hang off you like a koala by the way ."
I pouted my lips and ready to retort, but mom’s voice raised up, “Everyone passed to the next room. Are we moving or camping at the entrance?”
“Let’s go now,” I answered quickly, pretending I can’t wait it, then grabbed Matthew’s hand without thinking and pulled him forward.
I froze a little when I opened a door, this was an abandoned hospital room. The air smelled like old disinfectant mixed with mold. With the lights flickered wildly, I can see some gurneys were shoved together in the middle of the room, white sheets pulled over them, each one bulging in a way that made my stomach twist. All the fake bravery I’d managed to scrape together gone in less than one second.
“Wait, wait” I tugged Dad’s arm before I could react, pressing my whole body against his side. “Is there… is there a person under the sheet?”
“I guess so,” Mom snorted, “But no matter what it is, the fastest way through is straight through.” And with that she rose onto her tiptoes and darted past the row of beds in about three seconds flat.
She reached the door on the other side, turned back, and waved us forward. “Come on, hurry up!”
“It’s okay. I’ve got you.” Dad gently pried my death grip off his arm, then slid his hand around my shoulders instead, warm and solid. “Don’t worry, alright, princess? Your knight is ready.”
His palm stayed steady against my shoulder blade. Half his chest pressed against my back, that familiar heat chasing away some of the cold fear crawling up my spine. I let out a long, shaky breath and nodded.
“Ready? Three… two… one—go!” he whispered right against my ear.
The second he said go, I launched forward with him, every muscle screaming with focus.
Halfway across the room my peripheral vision caught it—one of the sheets twitched. Then a pale arm slid out from underneath.
My brain exploded with every horror-movie still I’d ever seen. My legs went weak, and I lurched forward..
“I’m gonna die” this thought flashed through my head—suddenly I was lifted into the air.
Dad scooped me up like I was a kitten. I have no idea how he even managed it, but next moment I was in his arms.
“Hold on tight,” he panted.
I locked my thighs around his waist immediately and threw my arms around his neck, clinging like a koala.
A few seconds later we burst through the door on the other side. It slammed shut behind us with a heavy click. I look back through the glass window—yep. That arm was just a plastic prop.
Heat flooded my face. Mortified, I buried it in Dad’s shoulder.
It was the moment I realized that my legs were still wrapped around his waist. Our chests were pressed so tight together, I even felt I could feel the hard outline of his pecs and abs right through his shirt.
His heart was still hammering from the sprint, and mine was answering in frantic little echoes, it felt like we were sharing the same rhythm. It made it hard to breathe, but… I didn’t hate it.
“We’re out,” Dad murmured against my ear.
“Yeah, I know.” My words came out muffled because I was still half-buried in his shoulder. I took one last greedy inhale of his scent—he always use the same aftershave and I like it, then slide down from him.
The second my foot landed, a sharp, needle-like stab shot through my ankle. I hissed out a tiny “ah!”
“What’s wrong?” Dad’s arm was around my waist in half a heartbeat, steadying me.
“I think I twisted it.” I tried rotating my foot experimentally. Pain flared again.
He dropped to a crouch immediately, fingers gently wrapped around my ankle. “Here?” he asked, pressing lightly.
I winced. “Yeah… there.”
“Here?” Another careful squeeze.
“No, there is fine.”
He worked his way around the joint, asking me if it’s okay.
“Not too bad,” he said finally, standing up. “Probably won’t even swell. But just to be safe, maybe we should swing by the hospital.”
“But we just started!” My voice cracked with disappointment. “We only did the first room. And it doesn’t hurt that much, really. Look—Mom’s already way ahead. Can we just find her first and then decide together?”
“Please, Dad?” I looked up at him with my best puppy-dog eyes, pouting and pleading.
He let out a helpless breath, the kind he used when I cornered him into giving me something he didn’t want to give . “Fine. But if it starts hurting worse, you tell me. We leave immediately. Deal?”
“Deal!” I beamed.
Next moment he lifted me easily, settling me against his chest again. “And just in case your ankle will get worse, I'll keep holding you, okay? ”
“Thank you, daddy.” I pressed my cheek to his shoulder, hiding the flush creeping up my neck. His body pushed back against mine, solid and warm, and I could feel every bit of his heat through my thin top.
“You know,” he said quietly as he started walking, adjusting his grip so I rode higher against him, “when you were little I carried you like this all the time. Ten years later… you're a hell of a lot heavier.”
“Dad!”
