Ace: The Reborn Queen’s Revenge Chapter 01

“Stop… please… I can’t take any more…”
I stayed on all fours, tears streaming, as the man in the sleek black suit thrust into me.
His voice was low and soothing, yet his every move carried ruthless dominance.
“Easy, sweetheart,” he murmured. “We’re only halfway there.”
Having been given a second chance at life, I spent 15 million dollars on the most expensive male escort in the country, just to indulge myself.
It was money well spent. He was generously endowed and incredibly skilled.
He introduced me to a whole new galaxy of pleasures I’d never even dreamed of before.
The next day, as I straddled him, losing myself in the heat of the moment, someone shattered the moment.
It was my husband, Rogelio Vaughn, the notorious underworld kingpin.
Rogelio’s men stormed in, dragging the escort away. Then, he turned to me with a piercing glare. “Where did he touch you?”
My mind was foggy, my laughter loose. “My lips, my chest, my inner thighs… He touched every single place you used to like, darling.”
A storm brewed in his eyes. The veins in his neck pulsed as he barked to his men, “Cut him into pieces and feed him to the dogs.”
I walked past him, stripping off my damp clothes as I entered the bathroom. “Whatever.”
In my previous life, during the seventh year of our marriage, my life changed dramatically.
Known as the Poker Queen, I won back his casino in Atlantic City. I stood by him as he rose from outlaw to the crownless king of the underworld.
But when he finally conquered the city, he fell for a girl shuffling cards at the casino—Gretchen Ramsey.
She’d been sold there like a piece of merchandise, pure and fragile.
Rogelio installed her in the VIP card room, personally teaching her the art of dealing cards and reading the odds.
One day, when I was checking the core members’ internal system, I discovered my marital status had been changed to “divorced.”
When I confronted him, Rogelio just brushed it off. “Grete’s all alone,” he said casually. “Now that she’s my wife on paper, no one will dare touch her.
“Everyone knows you’re my real wife—so why care about a piece of paper?”
I lost it. Storming into the card room, I slapped Gretchen across the face while everyone watched.
That very night, they dragged my brother Fitzgerald Gilbert—who’d risked his life for Rogelio time and again—back to the casino.
They shattered his legs and dumped him in the alley like trash.
“Veronica,” Rogelio smiled, “this is what you get for laying a hand on Grete!”
I begged him to stop, sobbing as Fitzgerald’s blood drained from his face. In the end, he died a painful, agonizing death right before my eyes.
Just then, blood gushed between my legs, and a searing agony tore through my abdomen. I collapsed, and darkness swallowed me whole.
When I woke again, I was back on the day I had discovered the change in my marital status.
This time, I didn’t confront him or cause a scene. I quietly sold off my jewelry and bought two plane tickets—one for me, one for Fitzgerald.
All I wanted was to whisk him away from this gilded hellhole.

After noticing the status change, I grabbed my ID and headed to the County Clerk’s Office to verify it.
“Ms. Gilbert, the system shows your marital status as divorced.”
Hearing the clerk’s words, I was finally certain: the horrors of my past life were real, not just a terrible dream.
The divorce had been processed on my birthday.
I had been so understanding of Rogelio’s busy schedule, making all the preparations for my own celebration. I had reserved the highest revolving restaurant in Atlantic City and arranged for fireworks.
That day, I’d waited from sunset until dawn, but he never showed up.
So that day, he wasn’t busy with work—he was busy filing for our divorce, erasing me from his life entirely.
I wrenched myself free from the crushing memory and returned to the casino. At the main entrance, I saw Rogelio’s black Maybach parked by the curb.
In my last life, I’d charged at him in a frenzy, demanding answers.
Rogelio, fearing Gretchen might see, had kicked me hard into a corner before she stepped out.
This time, I darted into the shadow of a corridor column.
The door swung open, and Rogelio got out.
He circled to the passenger side and pulled the door open, with a patience and tenderness I had never seen before.
Then, a girl in a pale blue dress stepped out.
She looked timid and uneasy, completely out of place amid the neon glow.
That was Gretchen.
Rogelio draped his suit jacket over her slender shoulders, then wrapped an arm around her waist, guiding her toward the casino.
“Rogel…” Gretchen hesitated, pausing mid-step. “You’re all I have now… Maybe I shouldn’t take the risk…”
Rogelio pulled her close, his voice laced with a certainty and tenderness I’d never heard from him. “Don’t be afraid. Now, you’re the queen of this place. No one else deserves that title but you!
“If you don’t like it here, I can find you a quiet spot and build a resort for you…”
Around them, the casino staff—who used to treat me with utter respect—now groveled before her. “Mrs. Vaughn, welcome!”
Surrounded by them, Gretchen—pure and fragile—walked into the dazzling den of vice.
I clutched my belly. Only when they were all gone did I stumble out of the shadows.
I wiped away my tears, my eyes hardening with resolve.
