The Painting Techniques of Grasshoppers and Insects
Grasshoppers and insects are also called insects, with a vast variety of species. Their bodies are composed of three parts: wings, legs, and the trunk. The trunk consists of the head, thorax, and abdomen. Insects generally have a pair of antennae on their heads, which are their sensory organs; on both sides of the head are two large compound eyes; at the lower end of the head is the mouthpart. The thorax is the main part of the trunk, consisting of three segments: the prothorax, mesothorax, and metathorax. Butterflies
Butterflies mainly include four types: swallowtail butterflies, brush-footed butterflies, gray butterflies, and white butterflies. According to records, there are over 14,000 named species of butterflies. The beauty of butterflies mainly lies in their wide and beautiful wings. Because their wing membranes are covered with countless tiny scales, these uneven and colorful scales form beautiful patterns on the wings, and the colors reflected vary from different angles. Moths have a more plump body shape than butterflies, with thick and dense scales and a duller color. When resting, butterflies fold their wings backward and upward, standing upright, and at night, they can even hang upside down from the branches and leaves of flowers and trees. Moths do not have this ability. Butterflies usually dance in the sunlight and among flowers, while moths prefer to fly in the dim light of dusk and are attracted to night lights. There are many methods for painting butterflies, including wet coloring and a combination of dry brushwork and wet coloring. The painting techniques for moths are similar to those for butterflies.
