She Took My Wedding I’ll Take Her Life Apart Chapter 01

On my wedding day, I knew my half-sister drugged my soup, I still drank it and and watched her take my place to marry Adrian Verne, the Underworld Sovereign of Harbor Island.
In my last life, after I woke up, I tore through her lies dramatically, which made her disgraced and exiled from Harbor City.
Adrian was mine again, I helped him legitimize his empire and climb to the pinnacle of power.
But when I was clinging to life in the delivery room, Adrian diverted the doctor, with my sister and their one-month-old son by side, he looked down on me with icy disdain:
“If it weren’t for your father’s rank, I’d have made you pay for humiliating Sylvia before everyone. Now that he’s under investigation, it’s your turn.”
My sister kicked my stomach, sneering viciously, “sister, my baby and I will thoroughly enjoy the things you protected. From now on, the status and prestige of Mrs. Verne belong to their rightful owner.”
I drew my last breath In the agony of betrayal and sharp pain.
When I opened my eyes again, I came back to my wedding day.

Outside the window, the gentle melody of the wedding sonata drifted in faintly.
I sat up and waited for about fifteen minutes. Rubbing my temples, I pushed the door open.
My mother was about to turn back into the room, the corners of her eyes still glistening with unshed tears.
When she looked up, she saw me standing by the door.
She let out a sharp gasp.
My father heard the sound, turned around, and saw me too. “Eleanor?
Didn’t you just get in the car?”
He pointed toward the main gate in shock. “Then who was that in the wedding dress who just left?”
I clutched my chest, a look of panic on my face. “It can’t be, can it?
Last night, Sylvia said she couldn’t bear for me to leave and made me a dessert soup. After I drank it, I felt drowsy and muddled, and I’ve been asleep until just now…”
The festive atmosphere suddenly froze. The guests exchanged subtle glances.
My mother’s chest heaved violently, she nearly lost her balance, and immediately ordered sharply, “Bring Laura Bell to me!”
Laura was dragged out from the crowd by the guards, a suitcase in her hand. She was clearly attempting to flee.
“No wonder you were crying harder than I was. I thought you genuinely couldn’t handle seeing Eleanor leave, but it turns out you personally shoved your own daughter into the Verne family’s wedding car!”
Laura’s eyes flickered nervously, but she fought to remain composed. “What exactly do you mean by that, Madam?”
Eleanor woke up late and missed her own departure. How can you blame Sylvia for that?”
Before she could finish, the butler rushed over and reported in a hushed voice, “Sir, Madam, the car from the Hamilton family has arrived at the gate to pick up the younger miss.”
My mother’s face turned to ice. “Which car did Sylvia get into? Bring her back!”
A cold sneer touched the corner of my lips.
It had been almost half an hour. She was probably already inside Adrian’s penthouse.
By now, Adrian was likely getting impatient too.
My gaze swept over the unconcealable smugness at the corner of Laura’s mouth, and I understood everything.
This mother-daughter duo truly knew how to play their cards.
Years ago, Laura, arranged by a rival family, had drugged my father and conceived Sylvia. For the sake of his reputation, Father was forced to bring them into the family.
Now, Sylvia had perfectly copied the trick, drugging me to pull off a deceptive swap.
Even if I had realized it sooner, what was done was already done.
Two stark choices lay before me: either swallow this utter humiliation, or marry into the Hamilton family in her place.
The Hamilton family wasn’t all-powerful, but Leo Hamilton had already made a name for himself. At his young age, he was my father’s most capable subordinate, boasting a decorated military record and a limitless future.
But Sylvia pulled a deceptive swap, trading her scorned engagement for mine.
If I accepted, the humiliating news would blaze across Harbor Island within hours.
The verdict was clear: Eleanor was cast aside by the Vernes only to be pawned off on the Hamiltons.
I would be the laughingstock of the entire social scene.
