The Sacrificial Lamb Came Back – As Your Worst Nightmare Novel by Lima Collins

The day Yvette Summers was finally acknowledged by the wealthy family wasn’t about going home-it was about being dragged to court.

“Yvette, you’re only losing two years of freedom. Stella’s losing her entire future!”

“Consider it an honor that you get to take your sister place in prison.”

When her biological parents and four brothers personally pushed her toward imprisonment, Yvette finally understood-

She wasn’t brought back to be the real heiress. She was brought back to be the scapegoat they’d already prepared.

After two years of torment, she died a wrongful death, but unexpectedly allowed a soul from her past life to possess and resurrect her body-

This time, she was going to make that cold-blooded family and their precious daughter rot in prison together!

The Sacrificial Lamb Came Back – As Your Worst Nightmare Chapter 01

“The defendant, Yvette Summers, is found guilty of assault with intent to cause bodily harm. Sentenced to two years in prison.”

The moment the gavel slammed down, Yvette’s blood turned to ice.

Below in the gallery, her parents let out sighs of relief while her four brothers high-fived each other.

Standing in the defendant’s dock, Yvette felt tears mix with despair, choking her throat.

She finally got it.

Abandoned eighteen years ago, brought home eighteen years later—not because they missed her, but because they needed a fall guy.

Their beloved fake heiress—Stella—had pushed someone off a 9th-floor rooftop last week. The victim was still in a coma.

And she, the real daughter who’d been left out in the cold, was the perfect person to take the blame.

She could still remember when they first showed up, tears streaming down their faces as they poured out their hearts: “Yvette! We finally found you!” Mom had sobbed uncontrollably. “These eighteen years, we never gave up looking!”

“Sweetheart, it’s Daddy and Mommy’s fault.” Dad’s voice had trembled.

Her rothers had surrounded her, saying things like “We’ll protect you from now on” and “We always kept your room ready at home.”

In that moment, Yvette thought she was the luckiest person alive.

After eighteen years of waiting, she finally had her answer. She’d cried her eyes out, calling “Mommy, Daddy” over and over again.

But before she could even process all that excitement, Mom had pulled her aside:

“Yvette, you know your sister Stella has been frail and sickly since she was little…”

Mom had held her hands with tears in her eyes.

“You’re the big sister. You should protect your little sister, right?”

Dad had knelt down too. “She can’t handle prison, but you’re different. You’re strong.”

“Don’t worry, it’s just for show. We absolutely won’t let you actually go to prison!”

Desperate for family love, Yvette had believed them.

She’d thought this was the first time her family needed her, that she could finally do something for them.

Until she stood in that courtroom and watched with her own eyes:

Her parents presenting carefully forged evidence;

Her eldest brother Adrian, as a lawyer, providing Stella’s defense;

Her second brother Zachary swearing under oath that she was the perpetrator;

Her third brother Ryan taking photos from the gallery, ready to manipulate public opinion;

Her fourth brother Daniel whispering gently in her ear: “Just plead guilty for now. We’ll get you out later.”

But the moment the verdict was read, their relieved smiles cut through her chest like knives.

She thought she’d break down crying, but found she couldn’t even shed a tear.

So this was what ultimate pain felt like.

The two years in prison were worse than death.

Three broken ribs, a fractured left hand, phone calls home that never went through, letters that never got replies.

For two whole years, not a single person came to visit her.

Just like when she’d been abandoned eighteen years ago, she was forgotten again.

When she was released, even the prison guard felt sorry for her:

“Go on home now, your family’s here to pick you up. Live a good life from now on, don’t let them down anymore.”

But Yvette’s face showed no expression.

She looked up, shielding her eyes from the harsh sunlight.

She’d had no home, no family, for a long time now.

The “Yvette” in the prison ward had died in her first month, died in a corner where no one cared.

The “Yvette” now was just a wandering soul who’d happened to enter her body.
From the moment she opened her eyes,she’d sworn to get revenge for Yvette.
“Yvette.”

From a Porsche 911 not far away, a well-dressed man with refined features slowly rolled down his window.

“Mom and Dad sent me to pick you up. You’ve been through hell these past two years.

When you get back, we’ll make it up to you.”

It was her eldest brother, Zachary.

Looking at her, Zachary’s eyes flashed with surprise.

The Yvette in front of him wasn’t disheveled like he’d expected. Instead, she looked healthy, even prettier than she had two years ago.

Yvette glanced at her “big brother” and let out a cold laugh. She couldn’t help but find it amusing.

Back when they’d brought her home, they’d said pretty much the same thing.

They’d talked a big game about making it up to her, but in reality, she’d lived like a charity case.

They’d put her in the basement and wouldn’t even let her eat meals with the family.

But back then, Yvette hadn’t cared about any of that. She’d been too caught up in the joy of finding her family.

Even though she knew they favored that sister who wasn’t even blood-related.

Even though they hurt her again and again for Stella’s sake.

She’d thought she could bear it all.

But looking back now, that original Yvette had been such a fool!

Thinking about how the original had been bullied to death by fellow inmates, Yvette’s
gaze grew colder and colder.

“Don’t worry. Since I’m using your body for this second chance, I’ll get revenge for you too,” she whispered to herself.

Every single member of the Summers family—she’d make them pay, one by one!
