Call of Duty WW2 beta UPDATE: How to play on PS4 WITHOUT a pre-order

CALL OF Duty WW2 beta is only for pre-order customers, but there is a way to play the PS4 version without one.

Call of Duty WW2 fans can play the upcoming private beta on PS4 without a pre-order.

The Call of Duty WW2 PS4 beta kicks off on August 25 6pm UK time and finishes on August 28.

The second beta period - for PS4 and Xbox One - begins on September 1 at 6pm UK time and finishes on September 4.

But the bad news is that you can only gain access to the Call of Duty WW2 Private Beta by pre-ordering the upcoming Activision shooter... until now.

If you haven't pre-ordered the game, then the Call of Duty WW2 beta will also be playable at next week's Insomnia61 festival.

"PlayStation will be showing the latest game from the most popular series in the world – Call of Duty: WWII, where all attendees will be able to get their first ever hands-on experience with the Private Beta, ahead of the full release on November 3," reads a festival statement.

Call of Duty WW2 Nazi Zombies will include Players embarking on a mysterious journey through a snowy Bavarian village in Mittelburg, Germany, as they attempt to recover priceless works of art stolen by the Axis powers in World War II

The only downside is that attendees of the Insomnia61 festival won't unlock the MP Private Beta Combat Pack.

Pre-order customers who take part in the beta will receive a bonus helmet, calling card, and emblem in the full game.

The items will become available on the Call of Duty WW2 release date of November 3.

If you pre-order the latest CoD, you will also get the Nazi Zombies Camo that can be used in the Zombies mode.

It’s an animated skin that looks like purple electric bolts running all over your weapon.

Earlier this month, it was also revealed that fans who pre-order Call of Duty WW2 will get 500 COD points.

The Call of Duty: WW2 multiplayer beta includes brand new maps and Sledgehammer's new War Mode experience.

It will also give fans the chance to enlist in all five Divisions, with more content set to go live during the beta event.

Here’s an overview on what you can expect in the Private Beta:

Maps – At least three Multiplayer maps, including: Pointe Du Hoc, Ardennes, and Gibraltar.
War – Operation Breakout
Modes – Fan-favorite modes, including Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint.
Divisions – Enlist in the Infantry, Expeditionary, Airborne, Armored, or Mountain Division. You are not limited to any one Division, and we encourage you to try them all!
Progression – Players will begin at Soldier Rank 1 and rank up through a limited progression to unlock weapons, scorestreaks, equipment, and Basic Training Skills.
