Take-away shop owner storms Melbourne pizza restaurant with meat cleaver


A Chinese take-away store owner has been filmed violently attacking workers at a neighbouring family pizza shop in Melbourne’s north-west.

CCTV shows the take-away shop owner, dressed in a white shirt, charging through the door of Pizza Fellas in Taylors Hill about 9pm yesterday.

Armed with a meat cleaver, the man charges behind the counter and starts furiously attacking the restaurant staff.

Sal Rizzo’s father, dressed in a blue jacket, can be seen using a metal shelf as a shield, while his sister steps in an slaps the offender was still clutching the weapon.

The family converges to dramatically wrestle the meat cleaver from the attacker’s hands.

The elder Mr Rizzo suffered cuts to his face and hands, while his sister also suffered lacerations to her hands.

Minutes before the violence unfolded, the neighbouring store owners are understood to have had a verbal altercation.

Mr Rizzo told 9NEWS the rival store owner claimed the pizza shop’s tables were encroaching on his property.

“He could’ve killed my workers, all over a table,” Mr Rizzo said.

He added that take-away shop owner returned later in the night to claim back the meat cleaver he used in the attack.

“It’s absolutely ridiculous,” Mr Rizzo said.

Police told 9NEWS are yet to be laid, and investigations are ongoing.
