2013 Exercise Semangat Bersatu, Singapore
19 November 2013 Tuesday
Every year, since 1989, soldiers from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Malaysian Armed forces (MAF) have participated in Exercise Semangat Bersatu. This year, the 1st Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment (1 SIR) hosted the 10th Royal Malay Regiment (10 RMR) for this exercise which was conducted in Singapore.
Exercise Semangat Bersatu 2013 commenced on 14 November with an opening ceremony held at Mandai Hill Camp. Throughout the exercise, the SAF and MAF soldiers built strong friendships through training exercises and cohesion activities. The MAF soldiers experienced training at our Infantry Gunnery and Tactical Simulation (IGTS) Centre and even a SAR-21 Familiarisation Shoot.
Contingents from the 1 SIR and the 10 RMR stood at attention for the opening ceremony at Mandai Hill Camp.

“I am thankful for the experience Ex. Semangat Bersatu has given me. Besides the comradeship we have forged with the SAF soldiers, it is also interesting to see the good technology and equipment the SAF soldiers use to train with. It is an enjoyable experience to do PT, eat and have fun together with the SAF soldiers.”
The MAF soldiers were brought to the firing range for a SAR-21 Familiarisation shoot.
