Jordan is set to shortly receive six Air Tractor AT-802 Block 1 armed reconnaissance and light-strike turboprop aircraft that are being donated by an undisclosed operator, industry officials confirmed to IHS Jane's on 18 June.

IOMAX, the US company responsible for weapons and systems integration for the armed Air Tractor, is under contract to de-weaponise the aircraft prior to their being handed over to Jordan, and is on track to undertake deliveries "later in the summer", CEO Ron Howard said during the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget.

"For political reasons the donor did not want to provide the aircraft in an armed configuration, but I don't think Congress or the State Department would have a problem with Jordan [subsequently] arming those airplanes.
