Iran launches new patrol vessels for its border patrols
TEHRAN, May 5 (MNA) – The new naval vessels for border police were launched by the Police Chief Commander Ismail Ahmdi-mghadam, and Gen. Hossein Zolfaghari, Border Police Commander in the Persian Gulf.

The ceremony was held in Kish Island, in the Persian Gulf, the Chief of Police stating that most of success, progress and manufacturing of native vessels have been done during the sanctions periods.

He said: “the number of vessels and domestic production will increase another 50 percent before 2015.” He called the aim of these new vessels to facilitate search and rescue missions and to deal with the boarder invaders and smugglers, deep within our borders.

Ahmdi-mghadam continued: “In the past year, there have been six, 60-foot vessel manufactured or re-constructed in the country, and by the end of the year the construction of 20 more 60-foot vessels will be finished.”

“With the construction of these new vessels, which the whole process was carried out domestically, we have saved around $30 million,” he reiterated.

Iran to Unveil Home Made Chopper Simulator Tomorrow

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Army Ground Force plans to unveil its latest product in helicopter simulators industries on Sunday.


The Iran-made Chopper 204 simulator will be unveiled in a ceremony to be attended by senior Army officials, including Ground Force Commander General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan.

Iranian experts have made huge progress in designing and developing various types of military simulators in recent years. Simulators help cadets receive better training and test their piloting and shooting skills in various weather conditions.

The product helps the country save millions of dollars.

Last month, General Pourdastan told reporters that the Army planned to unveil more home-made chopper simulators in the current Iranian year (March 2013 - March 2014).

"Four chopper simulators will be unveiled in (the Iranian calendar year of) 1392," Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan told reporters on the threshold of the country's National Army Day in mid April.

He added that the country's defense industries are also working on plans to manufacture a national chopper.

As regards the army's plans and programs for the current year, Pourdastan said his forces would stage 8 special wargames this year in a bid to maintain and boost their defense capabilities.

Senior Iranian military officials announced in September 2010 that Iran gained self-sufficiency in manufacturing simulators, adding that the country possessed more than 800 home-made simulators then.

In August 2010, the Iranian Army started using two home-made Cobra Chopper simulators in an airborne base in n Iran's western city of Kermanshah.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in manufacturing essential military hardware and defense systems.
