Mineral Field Inspector

Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities :
- Ensure execution of all operations relating to the Minerals Trade business, as assigned by the Operations Manager and Minerals Division Manager
- Ensure Field operations are executed efficiently to meet and exceed the customer requirements
- Ensure that SGS Quality and Workplace Health & Safety systems and procedures are followed at all times, and promote a Safety First and Safety Aware environment

Reporting to:
• Operations Manager, Trade Services Indonesia

Specific responsibilities:
- Provide and maintain highest quality and accuracy of on-site field operations
- Maintain and promote a Safety First and Safety Aware environment
- Perform field operations as directed by management, including supervision of assigned staff, in accordance with SGS Standard Operating Procedures
- Advise management, and take immediate action at the site, whenever a non-conformance is noted
- Promote the image, capability and integrity of the company to the clients
- Ensure that SGS Quality and Workplace Health & Safety systems and procedures are followed
- Operate to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity
- Regularly evaluate performance of field staff, with respect to Work Attitudes, Efficiency, Integrity and the ability to Act Decisively and Correctly
- Frequent travel to operational sites and deliver hands-on Approach (i.e. Not Office-Based)
- Make recommendations to management on ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations

Requirements:
Profile :
- 3-5 years operational/inspection experience in Minerals Field
- Experience with Shipping Terms and Port operations
- Trained in International Standard for Sampling of Bulk Minerals Products

Skills :
- Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goaTechnical knowledge and experience in related field and in using SGS methods and tools
- Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
- Proven experience working as a flexible “Team Player”
- Able to interact with all levels of management, suppliers and clients Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Acts quickly and decisively; able to make tough calls Works well under pressure, challenges status quo
- Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
- High level computer literacy, including Word, Excel, email, www, etc
