Papua Regional Police Continues to Appeal New Order to Citizens

The Papua Regional Police (Polda) continue to appeal to citizens about the new normal order policy as echoed by the government amid the corona virus pandemic (COVID-19).

Wakatim 1 of the Papua Regional Police AKBP Darma Suwandito COVID-10 Task Force in Jayapura said that the patrol and appeal were carried out around Jayapura City.

"By involving 34 Indonesian National Police personnel and five official vehicles, we patrol to provide appeals and understanding of the new normal life order to the people in Jayapura City," he said.

In the patrol, there were still some people who did not wear masks and also did not comply with the health protocol established by the government.

"Obviously, unscrupulous citizens who have not complied with health protocols, we give a warning and an appeal to use masks to break the chain of COVID-19 distribution," he said.

Darma said that patrols and appeals about the new normal order in Jayapura City were carried out at Taman Imbi, Jalan Percetakan, to Deplat, Jayapura District north then returned to Taman Imbi to conduct consolidation and evaluation related to the activity.

"In our appeal we convey to the public to continue to comply with the Health protocol by washing hands with soap, keeping a distance, wearing masks when outside the home. This is all done so that people can avoid COVID-19," he said.
