American Cruise Lines operates the newest and most modern fleet of six specially designed ships, with thirty-one unique itineraries in the Pacific Northwest and along the east coast of the US from Maine to Florida. We operate our ships for much of the year, spending the winter months in Florida and the Carolinas, the summer months cruising along New England and the Pacific Northwest.

Job Responsibilities:



Responsibilities include dining room set-up, service and sanitation of all meals. Daily stateroom service and housekeeping include cleaning, making the beds and bathrooms. Our vessels are small and intimate and we have a strong commitment to excellence and a passion for personal attention to all of our guests. Stewards will have a high level of guest interaction and are expected to demonstrate superior customer service skills and respond immediately and quickly to our guests needs. This is an excellent position for recent college graduates. Stewards are 12 week temporary employees.

Job Requirements:

You must be at least 18 years of age.
You must have a high school diploma.
Our vessels are U.S. registered. Therefore, all shipboard employees must be able to legally work in the United States.
All positions require pre-employment, random, and reasonable cause alcohol and drug testing, as per US Coast Guard regulations.
Physical Demands; All shipboard positions can be physically demanding. Repetitive motion, bending, climbing and often heavy lifting, are requirements of most positions. Every crewmember works 7 days a week for 12 hour shifts while on board.
Uniform/Grooming Standards; At ACL it is important that your attire and personal grooming reflect a positive and professional image. Including no visible tattoos in a collared t-shirt and long pants. The company has a uniform policy that all crewmembers need to adhere to.

Responsibilities
Ensure proper production of all menu items in assigned section
Lead team of Demi Chefs de Partie and Commis Chefs
Partner with Junior Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, as well as stewarding supervisors
Establish food quality standards during storage, production and service
Monitor and ensure opening and closing procedures for all kitchens and production areas
Actively participate in all Castaway Cay job responsibilities associated with position and line of business as directed by DCL leadership
Execute additional job responsibilities, as assigned by DCL leadership, based on operational need
Comply with all company set policies and procedures, along with all maritime and ship rules, regulations and procedures
Participate in Emergency Duties as specified in the ship Assembly Plan


Basic Qualifications
Minimum two years formal culinary training
Minimum three years (including apprenticeship) recent experience in high volume kitchen environment
Must be proficient in all stations in the kitchen
Must be proficient in safe food handling, United Stated Public Health (USPH) and/or Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Experience with a minimum of 50 covers per meal period
Proven experience with food orders within your section
Be at least 21 years of age
Be able to speak, read and write fluent English
Willingness to live and work onboard one of our vessels for a certain length of time (based on position)
Be able to work a seven-day, 70-84 hour week with limited time off
Be able to adhere to Disney Cruise Line appearance guidelines
Agree to share a cabin with other crew members
Enjoy working in a high-volume, fast-paced, guest-service oriented environment
Be flexible with your work schedule, job duties and work locations
Appreciate diversity among guests and crew

Applicants must:

Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion
