[judul asli] Islam's negative effect on Swedish, German cultures
Observers say two countries that ranked high in "gender equality" on a recently published list of nations worldwide are finding the Islamic influence within their borders is having a negative impact on their culture. As reported last week by OneNewsNow, the World Economic Forum recently released its annual Gender Gap Index.

It rated 142 countries on women's equality based on categories like access to healthcare, survival rates, education, income, and participation in the workplace and politics.Middle East expert David Rubin predicts Sweden – #4 on thatIndex – won't remain a top-ten gender equality nation much longer.

That Nordic country, he says, is experiencing a growing Islamic problem, at least in some parts of the country."Sweden used to be one of the most peaceful countries in the world, [but] all that has changed," he tells OneNewsNow. "There's been a skyrocketing rate of rapes of Swedish women by Muslim men.

In some cities in Sweden, women are afraid to walk through a park, even in the day time. It's gotten that bad, especially in the southern city of Malmö."He continues: "As the Muslim population grows, they're going to be demanding sharia law, or at least elements of sharia law, in the Swedish legal system.

And as they do that, you're going to see that they'll be demanding oppressive laws – and equality for women will be one of those going out the window as the Muslims gain more power."Rubin, a former mayor of the Israeli city of Shiloh, leaves Wednesday for a trip to Sweden.

He will be there for a week and hopes to educate the population about the rising Islamic threat before it is too late.Meanwhile, a pro-family leader says the growth of radical Islam is a problem that cannot be dismissed as just an "alternative ideology."Growth of Islamic extremism in GermanyRecently the head of Germany's domestic intelligence agency revealed that the number of Islamic extremists in that country is growing rapidly.

The agency estimates that some 6,300 Muslims in Germany are adherents of a fundamentalist strain of Islam known as "Salafism" – and says that number could rise to 7,000 by the end of the year. Three years ago only about 3,800 Salafists were reported in Germany.NancePenny Nance, CEO and president of Concerned Women for America, says radical Islam is a dangerous, evil ideology that needs to be called out where it is seen.

"What's so dangerous is even if the group is small, you have these lone wolfs – like we saw in Canada, like we've seen in other places – who can do great damage," she notes.Authorities estimate that some 450 Salafists have traveled from Germany to join extremist groups fighting in Syria and Iraq."Countries like Germany and others are having to deal with the fact that they have citizens going over to fight with ISIS.

I think it's a real issue for the entire world," says Nance. "We don't want to look at a group of people who want to kill others and dismiss it as just an alternative ideology."
