Bali is the Archetypical tropical paradise, an island replete with long, arcing beaches, graceful volcanoes, picturesque rice terraces, an utterly unique culture, it is a Hindu island in a sea of Islam; however, this branch retains element of the their ancient animist beliefs.

During this workshop we will have ample opportunity, to photograph dramatic landscapes, cultural sites, and the people who inhabit this remarkable place. Our itinerary includes the most famous sites on the island as well as some lesser-known gems.

At the same time we will learn about the inherent advantages afforded by Phase One medium format photography. We will look at engineering that makes this level of the Phase One Camera System, discuss best practices in both photography and post
production work , and enjoy inspirational slideshows.

All attendees will be loaned the state –of – the – art Phase One IQ 2 series to shoot with during the workshop. We will also have a complete complement of Phase One lenses for you to try.

WHAT TO BRINGS
As a workshop attendee, you will have a no – worries TRIP

We will pick you up the airport, provide transportation during the event, a single – occupancy room, all your meal and field. The only thing you need to bring to this workshop are a sturdy tripod. CF cards your computer. Everything else is taken care of.

DAY ONE : 2 NOVEMBER 2014
Upon arriving in Bali you will be met at the airport and transported to the hotel. The first night we will conduct an introduction on the workshop and to Phase One cameras ; especially experience sharing form Ken Duncan. We will issue you your camera and give you a chance to familiarize yourself with the equipment.

DAY TWO : 3 NOVEMBER 2014
After early breakfast at the hotel. We proceed to Ubud, the cultural capital of Bali. It is surrounded by some of the most hundreds of years old, including the celebrated Tegalalang rice fields. En route, we will photograph the terraces and take time to shoot the picturesque water temple of Thirta Empui and the equally beautiful Gunung Kawai. After that, we would go back to hotel for dinner and start the Capture One Pro training at night.

DAY THREE : 4 NOVEMBER 2014
We will photograph sunrise on the East Coast of the bukit peninsula, which provides views of Bali`s highest volcano, Gunung Agung, rising above the balance of the ocean. After breakfast at the hotel, we will devote the balance of the morning to a review og photographic technique, the ins and outs of photographing with Phase One medium format equipment, and software considerations, Everyone will time photograph Pura Taman Ayun and drive Lot, the most famous of island`s temples. With luck we will shoot the temple, situated on small islet, against a blazing sunset. Enjoy our farewell dinner of this trip before back to hotel.

DAY FOUR : 5 NOVEMBER 2014
A pre-dawn start allow us to capture sunrise on another beautiful morning. After a morning excursion, it`s time to turn in the cameras and your best JPEG`s of the trip for our final meeting. Departure will be after lunch.
