Lokasari to Get Luxury Apartments
Governor Joko "Jokowi" Widodo confirmed on Thursday that the city government was planning to construct luxury apartments for rent in Lokasari, Mangga Besar, West Jakarta.
"There are several [plans]. The public entertainment site will have luxury apartments for rent that are expected to generate income for the city administration," he said at City Hall.
He declined, however, to give a more detailed explanation about the plan.
"We are preparing the concept and its specifications," he said, adding he would make a field tour to the site soon so that he could conceptualize how the site would be developed.
Jokowi said with the redevelopment program, the Lokasari entertainment site was expected to be able to contribute at least Rp 1 billion (US$100,000) to the city administration.
