A Russian tourist was reportedly found safe and well on Thursday five days after going missing while trekking on Indonesia's most active volcano, a spokesman of the Russian Embassy to Indonesia, Dmitry Solodov, told RBTH Asia Pacific, citing local officials.

Yevgeny Luchina, 26, set off on Saturday to climb Mount Merapi, a 2,900-metre (9,600-foot) volcano in central Java, but got lost after trying to ascend the volcano's southern side covered in huge quantities of ash and lava since the last eruption in 2010, which killed 347 people.
The RIA Novosti news agency has quoted the Indonesia media as saying that Mr Luchina sent a text message to his girlfriend later on Saturday, saying that he had got lost, and asking her to alert the authorities.
He was tracked down on Thursday afternoon on a dried-up riverbed, local rescue agency spokesman Teguh Supriadi told AFP. He also added that Mr Luchina was weak when rescuers found him.
