[OPPAN GANGNAM STYLE] PSY Bakal Konser di Jakarta!!!
JAKARTA/SEOUL, May 25 (Yonhap) -- South Korean rapper Psy of "Gangnam style" fame will perform in Indonesia during a July concert celebrating 40 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, his Seoul management agency said Saturday.
Earlier in the day, the Jakarta Globe reported that Psy will make his first visit to Indonesia to hold a concert at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex in Jakarta on July 6. The concert is to mark "Korea-Indonesia Friendship Year 2013," according to the Indonesian daily.
"Psy was invited to the event to celebrate 40 years of close ties between Korea and Indonesia," YG Entertainment said in a release, noting that the singer is not staging a solo concert.
The 36-year-old singer, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, galloped his way to international fame with his megahit "Gangnam Style," which has been viewed more than 1.6 billion times on the video-sharing Web site YouTube.
His recently released single, "Gentleman," also made it into the Guinness World Records book as the most-watched video in a 24-hour span. It has been viewed more than 50 million times on YouTube since it hit the Internet on April 12.
He is currently in the United States to promote his new single.
