Jonathan Joestar's battle against the vampire Dio Brando starts it all. Part I - Phantom Blood

Part II - Battle Tendency

The second part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series takes place in the 1930s, and follows the misadventures of Joseph Joestar, the grandson of Jonathan Joestar, as he fights vampires and ancient super beings, with some help from a cybernetically-enhanced Nazi, a Ripple master woman and an Italian man he has a lot in common with.

The story begins in America during the year 1938.

Part III - Stardust Crusaders

The third part follows Jotaro Kujo, the grandson of Joseph Joestar, and his journey to defeat the resurrected Joestar family's nemesis, Dio Brando. It begins in Japan and involves the main characters traveling across Asia to Egypt. This part introduces the concept of Stand, a ghostly guardian with various superpowers.

Takes place in the year 1989.

Part IV - Diamond is Unbreakable

Fourth part focuses on Josuke Higashikata, the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar in a small city of Morioh. Josuke and his allies investigate the bizarre occurrences happened in the town as they lead to disturbing, long forgotten cases of serial killings.

Takes place in the fictional Japanese town of Morioh in the year 1999.

Part V - Vento Aureo

Giorno Giovanna wants to become a gangster in order to fulfill his dream: becoming a "Gangstar" (Gangster Star). After killing Leaky-Eye Luka, Giorno encounters Bruno Bucciarati, who wants to exact revenge. However Giorno exceeds Bruno's expectations and defeats him. Giorno is invited into Bucciarati's mafia group and is assigned a mission to deliver the Mafia Boss' daughter to him.

Takes place in Italy in the year 2001.

Part VI - Stone Ocean

The story of Jotaro Kujo's daughter, Jolyne Kujo. Taking place in Port St. Lucie, Florida, she is framed for a DUI murder and ends up in the Green Dolphin Street Prison. She is given an amulet inherited from her father, which cuts her hand and unlocks her Stand ability. In the prison, she soon becomes uneasy allies with fellow convicts and Stand users as they unravel the mysteries surrounding Jolyne's capture.

Takes place from 2011 to 2012.

Part VII - Steel Ball Run

The series stars Gyro Zeppeli, a disgraced executor, and Johnny Joestar, a former hot-shot jockey whose career ended early due to paraplegia as they pit their spirits on a 50-Million Dollar race across the heart of America. Their track quickly becomes a no-rules land as the racers' dreams collide and only human will spurs them on. But there is more to this race than any contestant realized and each of them soon grasps the real size of their world.

Takes place in the years 1890 and 1891, in an alternate timeline from the previous parts.

Part VIII - JoJolion

The story takes place in Morioh, the same town Part IV took place in, but in an alternate reality. Yasuho Hirose finds a strange naked man half buried in the ground. After making acquaintances, she finds out the man has no idea who he is and has no memories of anything. The story unfolds with Yasuho and the Strange Man attempting to unravel the mysteries behind the man's past and his amnesia.

Takes place in the year 2011.
