Russian ships may enter Iranian port in 2013 for first time in 40 years

Ships from Russia’s Caspian Flotilla may pay an unofficial visit to an Iranian port in 2013, Caspian Flotilla Commander Rear Adm. Sergei Alekminski said, Interfax reports.



He stressed there are no special relations between Russian and Iranian ships. “There is just a wish to see how the Iranian flotilla is developing,” he said, reminding that it will be the first visit in 40 years.
