This thread is dedicated to learn English by having conversation among dwellers.
So, feel free to have a chat in English here
Remember, language is a tool. To make you master language better, there's no other way than use it

Quote:
Behind the Story
Inspiration to make this English Spot came from some people in Regional Malang who once asked me about English Learning (Credit to Bro febjoki). Then I remember that some Regional have their own English Corner. Sometimes, English Corner in your own Region makes you feel more comfortable to interact because our relationship is closer than General Kaskus Forum.

However, Regional Malang doesnt have its own English Spot before, and it makes me wonder because Malang is well-known as Education and Tourism city, which definitely makes its people interact often with Foreigners. English as international language is important in Malang. Related with Kaskus, actually there are two English Forum Enthusiast come from Malang, P1nk3d_Books and me, Ambrosiana. I think it will be great if Regional Malang has its own English Spot.

So, by permission of all Regional Malangs citizens, especially the great Regional Leader, BuruhCisco (a.k.a Sam Tito), allow me to open this REGIONAL MALANG ENGLISH SPOT (REGIMES) so that we can practice English together here by having conversation each other in English.

Tips to Get High Score on TOEIC by Kimaera

Quote:Original Posted By Kimaera

I'll pray for u bro...
I hope u can pass it with a great score.
Just keep on studying with TOEIC materials..
-On sunday, don't sleep too late.. Sleep for 7 hours++, so that your mind and body will be refreshed.
-Gather score primarily from Listening section because it is the easy part of the test.
-Don't wait for the reader to finish the reading.. Just answer when you know the answer, and start reading the next number BEFORE the reader finish their reading in the last number. Read the answer, a. b. c. d. first before you hear the reader speak. That way you will get a head start and can imagine what the passage will be about..
-Pray and keep praying and ask prayer from your friends and family.
-Make sure you brought a good/best quality pencil with you. Don't buy pencil from traditional market.. Buy it from a good place like Gramedia, Royal ATK, Toga Mas, or places like that. This is to make sure your pencil is readable by computer
-Eat Breakfast. Seriously. You won't feel it, but your brain needs the protein and sugar you eat to maximize its work. You will think faster, better and smarter by having a breakfast.
Eating Chocolate/drink coffee will help too. But not too much, of course.. Watch out with coffee because it might makes you want to go to the toilet.
-Fill ALL the blanks. You can't go back later to fill those empty section. The time won't be enough. When you don't know the answer, JUST FILL IT with whatever you think is right. follow your heart Just don't let it be empty. Trust me, by the time you hit no. 100, the time will be close to an end. Or maybe it will end before you hit no. 100.. TOEIC test time is just too fast..

-Well that's some tips I can give to you...
and with those tips I get my 910 TOEIC score...
Wish you the best bro.

Manga to enhance your English skill?
Quote:Original Posted By BossNoval

oh no no sam, my senior high school was using usual standard because i lived in ngalam now
btw nice score you got sam, i never got high enough like yours

the only problem was my junior high school in my old town, i think you could call that a little ''extreme'', included the tests
i still remembered clearly, my first english lesson after registered was to read an english story for kids, the title is wizard of oz
the other students were having no problem to understanding the story, while i am still have no friends, and of course, no help too
for listening section, the cd plays a bule-style speaks, while my ears set to hear jowo-style speaks oh god
but thanks to that, i became a mainstream and became better at english

yes, but it is kind of forced sam you know wkwk
and if i translated it, when will i play the game ?

may i share some tips guys ?
if you bored at learning english by the book / theory, are you interested if you can read english-languaged comics ?
usually i read at => http://mangafox.com/ / http://mangahere.com/
it was a web providing a lot of japanese comics, but in english language
for the fast-connection internet, you can read directly every chapters
for the slow / want to download, there is an application to download those comics it can be downloaded here => http://domdomsoft.com/home/2012/02/2...4-6-5-release/
how to use the app is simple, launch the app, choose the web from where you want to download the comics ( mangafox / mangahere.com ), find the comics, download, done, happy reading
at first, i'll recommend doraemon comics since the language wasn't too complex and tewur

Welcome to TBI ABM Campus
Located inside the ABM campus, TBI Malang was established in 2002 and after six years boasts a large public student roster covering the complete range of TBI core programs as well as individual language learning modules unique to the Malang school.
Despite being located inside a university campus the school has a large, and still burgeoning, range of children’s programs and curiously is now affectionately referred to as the ‘Kids Campus’. The children’s programs happen early in the day so they cause no disruption to our adult student classes.
Our mission statement is to provide language skills upgrading in Indonesia by delivering quality language courses & we also aim to have a positive impact on educational achievement by providing professional development opportunities for language teachers.
TBI Malang management, teachers & staff are very proud of the schools & services we have created for our students and hope to see you amongst their ranks.

Welcome to TBI Soekarno-Hatta
TBI Soekarno-Hatta was opened in 2006 to meet an increased demand from clients for our programs, which our foundation branch inside the ABM campus could no longer cater to.
Conveniently located on Jl. Soekarno-Hatta, one of the city’s main traffic thoroughfares, the branch has quickly found a niché in Malang. The branch presents our adult programs exclusively & with its modern, minimalist décor and comprehensive facilities it is considered to be TBI Indonesia’s only boutique branch.
We invite you to visit us -inspection of our facilities-, take a 30 minute placement test, enjoy a complimentary coffee or tea, relax in our guest lounge with the Jakarta Post or perhaps take a flick through our library at your leisure, all with no pressure or obligation to enroll.
