Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) | 3rd MCU Spider-Man Film
The untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is intended to be the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Jon Watts, written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Jamie Foxx, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina.

Tom Holland says No Way Home is the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man trilogy

The next Spider-Man movie comes out in December and it might just be the last one for a while, according to Tom Holland.
“We were all treating [No Way Home] as the end of a franchise, let’s say,” Holland tells Entertainment Weekly. “I think if we were lucky enough to dive into these characters again, you’d be seeing a very different version. It would no longer be the Homecoming trilogy. We would give it some time and try to build something different and tonally change the films. Whether that happens or not, I don’t know. But we were definitely treating [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it.”
Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Holland’s take on Spider-Man is leaving the MCU. But it does appear that solo Spider-Man projects will be on pause for a little. There is certainly a chance the character could be revisited later on in his narrative, when he’s less a teenage hero and more of an established Avenger. Spider-Man could also take on a bigger role in Avengers projects, or just simply show up in other movies.
