Bila selama ini umumnya jajaran Chevrolet mengusung mesin 1.400 cc, khusus Spin, Chevrolet menyiapkan mesin baru berkapasitas 1.500 cc. Sepertinya, mereka ingin memaksimalkan performa MPV terbarunya ini.

Cukup logis karena Spin menggunakan pelat denga ketebalan 0,6 - 0,8 mm, dimana kompetitornya hanya menggunakan 0,4 - 0,6 mm. Dan sisi samping bodi, kini dibuat menjadi satu bagian, tanpa sambungan, membat Spin semakin rigid.

Pun begitu, dengan transmisi otomatis 6 percepatan akan memberi kontribusi positif terhadap performa maupun konsumsi BBM yang lebih edisien.

Saat Auto Bild mencoba duduk di baris ketiga, ruang kaki cukup terbatas untuk tinggi badan 172 cm. Namun AC double blower tersedia di atap dengan saluran hingga baris ketiga. Dan yang menarik adalah tampilan panel instrumen digital - memberi kesan modern dan sporty.

Bantingan suspensi Spin terasa lembut layaknya bantingan mobil Eropa. Meski konsekuensi bangku baris ketiga yang tidak reclining dan akses keluar masuknya tidak sebaik Grand Livina, Ertiga maupun Avanza-Xenia lantaran bangku baris kedua tak dapat dimajukan.

Jadi, secara keseluruhan Chevrolet menghadirkan 3 pilihan mesin yakni bensin 1.229 cc 88 dk dan 1.485 cc 109 dk dengan pilihan transmisi manual mupun otomatis, lalu varian turbo diesel direct injection berkapasitas 1.245 cc dengan 75 dk namun torsi 190 Nm. sayangnya, varian ini hanya tersedia dengan transmisi manual saja.
Harga varian terendah dimulai dari Rp 139 juta.

First Impression Chevrolet Spin : Tampil Mewah Luar Dalam

Bekasi, BosMobil.com - Chevrolet Spin yang digandang-gadang oleh General Motors Indonesia akan menjadi pilihan alternatif kelas Low MPV memang tampil cukup menggoda.

Sekilas pandang, Chevrolet Spin memang ‘woooow’ karena tidak terlihat seperti mobil di bawah Rp. 200 juta. Tampilannya mewah berkat hadirnya grill depan berwarna hitam yang diliputi dengan bingkai krom di sekelilingnya. Bemper yang disematkan dengan foglamp juga berhasil menjadikan Chevrolet Spin tampil agresif.

Interior Chevrolet Spin hadir cukup mewah, dimulai dari dashboard dengan tampilan two tone. Demikian juga dengan jok mobil yang tampil cukup apik. Chevrolet Spin juga sudah menghadirkan AC double blower. Uniknya selain AC tambahan tidak ditonjolkan, pada baris ketiga juga terdapat AC tambahan untuk penumpang paling belakang.

Sementara untuk mesin, Chevrolet Spin dihadirkan dengan 3 pilihan yaitu berkapasitas 1.200 cc, 1.300 cc dan 1.500 cc. Khusus untuk mesin yang berkapasitas 1.300 cc merupakan jenis diesel. Dan bisa dikatakan, hanya Chevrolet Spin yang memiliki pilihan mesin diesel di kelasnya.

Redaksi pun diberi kesempatan untuk menjajalnya dan menjadi penumpang di Chevrolet Spin. Di baris kedua, bangku terasa agak keras dan juga terlalu tegak serta tidak bisa direbahkan. Sedangkan di baris ketiga, ruang kaki atau leg room dirasa terlalu sempit.

Namun tidak bisa dipungkiri bahwa kabin Chevrolet Spin terasa cukup hening. Ditambah dengan hadirnya AC di baris ketiga mengilangkan kesan ‘anak tiri’ untuk penumpang paling belakang. Guncangan pun mampu diredam meski jalur yang dilalui adalah untuk test drive yang jalannya bergelombang.

Chevrolet Spin mungkin memang sebuah pilihan alternatif. Bahkan di kelasnya, hanya mobil ini yang menyediakan mesin diesel. Dengan segala kelebihan dan kekurangannya, Chevrolet Spin diharapkan akan mampu memberikan warna tersendiri di kelasnya, yang selama ini dikuasai oleh mobil pabrikan Jepang.

Berikut fasilitas yang ada di pabrik GM Indonesia di Pondok Ungu, Bekasi.

1. Press Shop

Bagian ini merupakan pemilihan dari lembaran baja dalam gulungan besar akan dikirim dan dipotong sesuai dengan ukuran dan bagian yang diperlukan. Setelah itu, bahan tersebut dibentuk dan dimasukan kedalam mesin press untuk membuat bagian pintu mobil, atap dan hood.

2. Body Shop

Disinilah proses perakitan untuk lebih dari 500 parts disatukan menjadi satu bodi lengkap (body in white) melalui metode spot welding dan bodi fit (pengaturan gap dan flushness).

Puncak dari bodi shop adalah proses Sport Welding membentuk dan merakit menjadi bodi in white yang lengkap dengan akurasi dimensi yang tinggi. Bodi shop terbagi menjadi 4 utama:

-Sub Assembly
-Main line
-Body in White & Closure
-Hemming closure

Setelah itu bodi in white akan melewati final inspection untuk pemeriksaan akhir sebelum memasuki paint shop line.

3. Paint Shop

Body in white akan melalui proses Pre-Treatment dan ELPO (pembentukan lapisan tahan karat)
-pengeringan dengan oven, Sealing dan under body coat (untuk peredam suara, getaran dan tahan karat)
-pengeringan dengan oven kemudian pengecatan dasar (prime coat)
-pengeringan dengan oven, lalu pengecatan akhir (top coat)
-pengeringan dengan oven dengan kualitas pengecatan yang tinggi.

Setelah proses ini selesai, bodi melewati final inspection untuk pemeriksaan akhir sebelum bodi tersebut memasuki General Assembly Line.

4. General Assembly

Lebih dari 1.000 bagian digunakan untuk melengkapi bagian akhir dari Chevrolet Spin, diantaranya
-Trim line
-Sub assembly door

5. Quality

Di bagian Quality, proses pengecekan kualitas CBU terbaik dalam memenuhi cutoer anthusiasm dari kendaraan Spin ini.

Langkah terakhir adalah pemeriksaan kualitas CBU yang telah selesai. Setiap CBU melalui pemeriksaan ketat dari 1.500-2.000 titik untuk memastikan rem, wiper kaca depan, lampu, dan lainnya bekerja dalam, seperti;
-13 Verivications (Body, Paint, GA dan EOL)
-Dimensional Checking (CMM dan TAC)
-Sampling Precission Check (Tourque dan Sealer)

On the sides, the Chevrolet Spin has creases similar to the Cobalt, with ledges and areas close to the fenders. Being a big car, the glazed area can be considered relatively small. At the rear, the lights referring to another type of brand, Agile.

Finishing and equipment

The interior follows the standard design and materials used in the Cobalt sedan, which in our opinion, is pleasant with light colors and although it looks simple, using good quality materials. However, some parts may have a quirk in the best alignment.

The system of folding the seats is done through latches that are not hard to drive and have a small cord to hold them when they are bent.

Iya beneran.. range harga antara 150jt s/d 200jt krn dari awal Spin direncanakan utk bersaing dg Avanza Xenia.. cuma keduluan aja sama Ertiga. Makanya masuk akal kalo nanti yg di Indonesia Spin-nya pakai mesin yg 1400cc. Kalo yg 1800cc kan udah ada Orlando.
