Ganapatya

Ganapatya is a denomination of Hinduism that worships Ganesha (also called Ganapati) as the Saguna Brahman.[1]

The worship of Ganesha is considered complementary with the worship of other deities. Hindus of all sects begin prayers, important undertakings, and religious ceremonies with an invocation of Ganesha. The "worship of the five forms" (pañcāyatana pūjā system, which was popularized by Śaṅkarācārya, invokes the five deities Ganesha, Vishnu, Shiva, Devī, and Sūrya.[2] It is one of the five principal Hindu sects, with Shaivism, Shaktism, Vaishnavism, and Smartism which follows Advaita philosophy. While it is not as large a sect as the first four, it has been influential.[citation needed]

Ganapati has been worshipped as part of Shaivism since at least the fifth century. A specific Ganapatya sect probably began to appear between the sixth and ninth centuries: six sects are mentioned in the Sankara digvijaya (life of Adi Shankara) by Sri Anandigiri. It reached a high point about the tenth century, and built temples dedicated to Ganesha, the largest of which is the Ucchi Pillayar Koil (the Columns Hall of a Thousand Pillars), on the Rock Fort of Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu.

Later, the sect was popularized by Sri Morya Gosavi. According to one source, he found an idol of Ganapati not made by human hands, and built the Morgaon temple near Pune in the 14th century.[citation needed] According to another, he experienced visions of Ganapati at the Morgaon shrine, and was entombed alive (jeeva samadhi) in 1651, in a Ganesha temple at his birthplace in Cinchwad.[3]

Following him, the Ganapatya sect became prominent between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries in Maharashtra in western India, centering around Cinchwad. Its center is still among high-caste Hindus in the Marathi-speaking region of Maharashtra, and it is important in South India. Devotees hold an annual pilgrimage between Cinchwad and Moragaon.

Sect marks include a red circle on the forehead, or the brands of an elephant face and tusk on the shoulders.

ganesha armour mantra kavacham

The Ganesh Armour Hymn - Ganesha Kavacha Sloka

For the sake of devotees, we provide the Vinayaka kavacham armour hymn in transliterated English (with line-by-line meaning) and in Tamil. (Vinayaka is a name of Lord Ganesh.)

This hymn explicitly requests Lord Ganesh's protection for every body part, for one's life, loved ones, home, assets and one's very existence. (The word kaakka in every line of this sloka is the explicit request to the Lord to protect).

Ganesh devotees should recite the Vinayaka kavacham hymn and beseech Lord Ganesh to protect them. They should recite it a minimum of 3 times a day, but Siddhas suggest 12, 21, 30, 51, 108, 1008 and 10008 or more times a day for ardent devotees.

You can find the text of the mantra (in both English and Tamil), the meaning of each line of the mantra and audio help below.

maap mas, saya gak tau banyak, itupun cuma copas
Maaf cuma copas saja mas :

Who is Ganapathi? He is the Adhipathi (master) of all ganas, five senses, five elements and five life sheaths .

Human body consists of five sheaths:
- Annamaya (food sheath),
- Pranamaya (life sheath),
- Manomaya (mind sheath),
- Vijnanamaya (wisdom sheath) and
- Anandamaya (bliss sheath).

Man progresses only up to Manomaya. He is unable to go up to the sheaths of wisdom and bliss. One has to take refuge in God in order to reach the state of bliss.

Ganapathi is depicted as having elephant's head as He is very intelligent. Ganapathi is also known as Vinayaka, meaning one without a Nayaka (master). He is the master of Siddhi and Buddhi. So, one has to pray to Vinayaka in order to acquire Siddhi and Buddhi. You have to make proper use of your intelligence in order to earn the grace of Vinayaka. Shun bad company. Seek good company. Only then will your life be redeemed.

Uchhisht ganpati sadhana

FOR RIDDANCE FROM EFFECT OF EVIL RITUALS

If some base ritual has been used against a person or family, life becomes worse than hell. A person under such evil influence becomes much harassed and powerless even though he might be a millionaire.

Tension, quarrels and unrest become common features of family life. All one's respect and social position is reduced to naught. Today hatred and jealousy are so strong that enemies and adversaries lose no time in using base rituals against you. These evil practices can completely destroy your life.

For warding off such evil influence try this Uchhisht Ganpati Sadhana with the help of which you can protect yourself from all negative forces in life.

Uchhisht Ganpati means Ganpati in an angry form standing ready to destroy one's enemies. Generally Ganpati is worshipped in a seated form, but in Tantrokt Sadhanas the Uchhisht or standing form of the Lord is worshipped because this form of the Lord is Vighneshvaraay i.e. it frees one of all problems. A Sadhak should try this Sadhana in an angry mood and with full force.

Early in the morning have a bath and wearing fresh clothes sit in your worship place at home facing East or North. Light incense and a ghee lamp. Keep some water ready in a copper tumbler. Place all these on a wooden seat covered with a red cloth. First offer prayers to the Guru by offering incense, flowers and vermilion on the Guru's picture. Then chant two rounds of Guru Mantra.

Then place before the Guru's picture a steel plate and on it draw a Swastik with vermilion or saffron. On it place a Uchhisht Ganpati Yantra.

Then join both palms and chant thus -

|| Om Gajananam Bhootgannaadhisevitam Kapith Jambu Falchaaru Bhaakshannam ||

Then chanting thus offer the indicated articles on the Yantra.

|| Om Gam Mangalmoortaye Namah Snaanam Samarpayaami ||
(water)

|| Om Gam Ekdantaay Namah Tilakam Samarpayaami ||
(vermilion)

|| Om Gam Sumukhaay Namah Akshtaan Samarpayaami ||
(rice grains)

|| Om Gam Lambodaraay Namah Dhoopam Deepam Aaghrapyaami, Darshyaami ||
(ghee lamp)

|| Om Gam Vighnanaashay Namah Pushpam Samarpayaami ||
(flowers)

After this mix vermilion with rice grains and offer them on the Yantra chanting thus.

|| Om Lam Namaste Namah

Om Tvamev Tatvamasi

Om Tvamev Kevalam Kartaasi

Om Tvamev Kevalam Bhartaasi

Om Tvamev Kevalam Hartaasi

Om Gannaadhipataye Namah ||

Offer a spoonful of water on the Yantra.

Thereafter chant 5 rounds of the following Mantra with a coral rosary for 11 days.

|| Om Gam Hum Tantra Baadhaa Nivaarannaay Shreem Ganneshaay Swaahaa ||

After completion of the Sadhana tie the Yantra and rosary in a red cloth and drop the bundle in a river or pond. One should complete this Sadhana between 4.10 to 6.45 am

worship this god, there is no auspicious timings or lunar day. He can be worshipped on

is given that his “mantra japa” should be done while eating fruits or laddu (a round
shaped sweet). To get siddhi or fruit, one should recite his mantra for 16,000 times.
